My paper model recognizers

on Monday, January, 24, 2011 2:34 AM
Greetings, programs!
PRE-EMPTIVE COMMAND LINE: if this is in the wrong subforum, would the administration team be kind enough to shift it?

Most of you will be aware of the "3D" paper models available free to download from Disney's website (Flynn's retro light cycle, CLU and Sam's new-gen ones, and the new reco), but as well an outfit called "Technomodels" offers their paper take on the classic 1982 reco (I can't find a direct link but it can be downloaded here: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/tech/ms_tron.htm ).

After seeing the two films for the first time a few weeks back I became quite enamoured with the ol' reco (hence my username!) and downloaded both of these models to build. I am now pleased to present them both to you, as my first ever paper models. Please forgive the sloppy nature of them - especially the classic reco - as it was a spur-of-the-moment thing.

As we all know, a recognizer is built by simply having a user enter a field of rubble and spreading his/her hands to invoke their user power.

Hey presto, one menacing classic reco! The clear plastic behind was suggested by the designer as a way to keep the parts in place. There is also a cool base for the model which I will download and build tomorrow.

And here's Disney's all-new Legacy reco.
Construction on the main body and "wings" finished, left leg under way.

Just need to do the feet.

Ta-da! CLU would be proud! It goes together a lot easier than the classic reco, as all the tabs are present, whereas the classic requires either butt-joins to the edges (very tricky for me) or you make your own tabs for the glue (I did this toward the end, much easier and stronger end result).

Recos always look more evil down at microcircuit level...

And the two generations of recos together. I'd love to do a 2.0 variant if they appeared in the game, and if some kind, thoughtful program was to rez up a model for us......

Enjoy, and I hope my fellow reco fans out there get into this quick, simple but satisfying pastime.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Mrs RecoPilot says "It is NOT a waste of black ink! I think it looks really cool." so :-P

Dude, like I said up top, the Legacy was my first ever paper model. I'm pleased with the result, as long as you've taken the time to cut in the right places it goes together nicely. I have been making plastic plane kits since I was seven, so I guess I have an advantage in that regard. but give it a go, the Legacy reco has few parts and is an honestly fun way to kill a couple of hours. I had my TRON playlist going hardcore on my iPod - 1982, Evolution, Legacy and Legacy - Aftermath remixes!

Thanks for the kind words. MCPcomputer, the Legacy one is quite cool because you can glue the main body but leave the lower portion free to cycle up and down order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I used Gorilla multipurpose glue, it's clear but dried fast so I used a lot of it. I'm sorta tempted to do the cycles too, but I don't like the look of the wheels, and we have the die cast ones anyway :-)order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Recognizers do appear in TRON 2.0, but I believe they look just like classic TRON recos.
They mention in the game that they recycled the old recognizers and used them to carry that program train/bus thing.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online
