I've been curious, fanboy to fanboy, is this accepted as a proper term? I typically refer to them as identity discs, but I've noticed this being used on everything Legacy related. Or is it the equivalent to calling a light saber a "laser sword"?
For that matter, what about jet walls and light trails?
Not that it really matters. Just curious about your opinions on the subject.

Yeah, I've just noticed "light disc" used in all the toys, the games, etc...everything but the movie itself, actually.

It seems Disney used "Light Disc" to market the lower price disc while Identity disc was saved for the "Deluxe Identity Disc"

There's a slight difference in disc and disk. Disc is used when referring to the Discs in Tron. Mostly because it's a discus, it is throwable.
Disk is not. But the Identity Disc has properties of both "disc" and "disk"

When I saw light disc on the back of my Tron: Evolution DS game, and hearing it called a light disc in ads for Battle Grids, I thought "Well Disney sure screwed that up".
I always say Identity Disc.

I've never heard anyone say "Light Disc." I think Identity Disc is just too long-winded for most.
