I understand, but the action and 3D effects are what brought us to this point. There will be more than just action. Look how we have come to know Sam and Quorra. Look at the possibilities. Is Tron alive? How deep does Ed jr. Go? What has Encom been up to in Flynn's absence. I see endless possibilities for a good thought provocing story. But, I see the need for furious battles and cool action eye candy. Let's hope we get both.

Speaking of Tron 2.0, Tron legacy was mentioned in it as the upgrade to the original Tron program (or something).
I could see them incorporating some stuff from the game into the new film.
Btw, you don' need to play the game. YouTube has some walkthroughs you can watch. I'd rather do that than buy a $70 copy.

Which is what I'm suggesting with getting Jet involved in the film. Basically, since the director of "Tron Legacy" considers the game non-canon, there's nothing saying that they can't revamp certain aspects of the story. Jet doesn't have to be exactly the same as he was in the game, and the events of the game and the comics don't have to be forced into the timeline. Can Jet exist in the films? Yes he can. Does the events of the games have to be involved? No, they don't. Could Jet be friends with Sam, practically being more like a "brother from another mother?" Yes. Could Ma3a be involved in the films? Possibly (depending on how she's presented and if she would be important to the plot).

They don't need to remake the whole game's story. But I think that Jet could be a pretty helpful friend to Sam in another film (especially since Jet is a game programmer, who better be a digital gunslinger and at the aid of Sam?). I even hinted at the idea of how Jet can exist in the film version of things in that fan fic I did a while back.
