Is that what he said? I've seen the film four times now, and every time it sounds like "nah nah". |
I think it was "What am I supposed to do with this?" "Not that."

He didn't bug me all that much. What did bug me was his "Did that please you?" to CLU "Long Live the Users" and "Death to the Users"
Other than that. I kinda liked him.

Pretty much. Sam says something like, "What am I supposed to do with this?" and starts waving the baton around like a lightsaber a little bit. Jarvis says, "I'll give you a hint..." (pauses) "...Not that."
That's what I hear every time anyways.

Darth Tronage Wrote:Him being derezzed by Clue was one part that gave me a chill. Not that I had any sympathy for the character. It was his "death to the users!" line. He said it even though he was being derezzed. Kind of like the Nazis when they were being hung for there crimes.
I think like the Nazis were loyal to Hitler, Jarvis was loyal to Clue even as Clue derezzed him. He wouldn't have followed Clue so closely if he didn't share his views. Jarvis was just scared of a user. And one who was destroying any opposition in his path at that point of the movie.
If God walked through the door and started wiping out anyone who got in his way, I think there would be a lot of Jarvis like people kissing butt too. The guy was just too bizarre looking for me to like. Kind of like Gary Oldman in "The Fifth Element".

LOL They look like cousins or something LOL . Anyhow. oooooo chilling points about him there. Didn't think of those. He was like a little puppy following C.L.U around.

... yeah, I think that line was completely out of context. He was probably referring to "last night."

Maybe because of Jar-Jar Binks.
Jar-Jarvis? Maybe. He still didn't bug me as much as Castor/Zuse.
I liked Zuse... until he started dancing and using his cane like a laser gun, everyone else I liked.

Jarvis is totally 2 faced. He's just a character who has no loyalty, he's only attracted to the dominate power. Not to mention he's the weirdest looking program.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I thought the cane laser show was just that -- a laser show. Until Zuse took out one of the Black Guard. Perhaps he could moderate the power of the output, light show versus lethal blasts?
Like Clu 2, Zuse seemed to have been driven to a dark place in his time on The Grid. He'd seen too much and had to make too many compromises in order to survive. It had left him bitter and hollow. |

See I was interested by this because MY first interpretation of Jarvis (after the first viewing) was that he is one of the programs trying to "take down CLU from the inside" mentioned by Flynn. He does seem overly eager to become involved in the minutiae of CLU's (possibly dangerous) schemes which is kind of incongruous with him just being a sniveling, brown-nosing coward.
I thought his reverent tone when confronted by Sam sounded genuine, as in he'd advanced himself up the ranks of CLU's regime for the specific purpose of helping the Users (probably didn't foresee Sam's arrival and all, but something along those lines). Though upon a second and third viewing and after hearing some others' thoughts on Jarvis my original interpretation has been somewhat jarred.
Thoughts?

Castor was shooting energy bolts randomly at the Programs, he didnt care what innocent bystanders where hit. It was (create more chaos and confusion) sort of thing.
I did notice a couple Program hit by the bolts that seem to stun them a bit allowing the black guards to get in their own hits.
I thought Jarvis was alright as a "brown nosing" suck-up "yes man", perfectly wormy and coniving...

I thought the same of Castor. His character just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.
I hope he's derezzed, but Gem... Boy... she NEEDS to be alive "Reveal your creation date or I will disassemble your code one operation at a time!" |
