I know this is sort of odd to say, but I love the pacing of the demo reel. Perhaps they'll think about this for the next movie (I hope there is one!) and up the pacing a notch or two. This reel confirms they put A LOT of work into the movie. The visuals are absolutely stunning. Hopefully this demo reel will help Tron Legacy do something the original didn't - earn an Oscar nomination/win for VFX.
It's a crime the original couldn't be nominated because it was made in a computer. Talk about Hollywood irony!

I agree, the pacing of the demo is excellent--it's essentially a well-edited Daft Punk/Tron music video. Although I would say that I thought the pacing of the movie was actually just about right. What I loved about it (and I realize this is personal) is that alot of the effects were done in a way that had I had to come up with something on the spot, would have been the way I would have done it or very close in approximation. When Sam first summons his lightcycle on the grid that entire sequence of him running and diving went through my mind in the theater. I got the Cinefex issue for January ( I highly recommend it) and it not only showcases the effects of TRON: Legacy but you get into costume design and set design. That and they have a cool shot of CLU on his lightcycle scraping his disc on the arena floor.

Love that video, very nice! A lot of people didn't like the look of Clu for this movie, but quite honestly; I was very impressed by it (having to work with Autodesk Maya, I give props to the people behind Clu). After all, my GF didn't even recognize that it was CGI and not actually Jeff Bridges.

What precisely don't you get. I'm sure it's been explained. I know my first attempt was taken to an odd tangent that had little to do with my point, so I just walked away. No one should have to pull teeth to explain what should be common sense. So if you could really narrow down what part of the criticism you truly are boggled by, and help both sides not waste time, and not treat all negatives as destructive, while hating on people yourself, maybe you'll find a way to accept and simply disagree.

What I am refering to is people that post broad, blanket claims, comments, or imply that ALL the Clu CG in every scene looks "bad". When, IMO, that is just not true AT ALL.
What I don't get is how some people repeat their negative opinion over and over to brow beat everyone with their view that either the Cg for Clu is "all bad", or make the claim that entire movie is "awful" (often proceeding subjectively tear apart the film) and they push the idea that somehow all of it is "bad","sucks","boring", etc; as if their perspective is an authoratative and what they say are absolute axioms, and that their's is the only "correct" opinion.
Many posts in many online forums on a variety of subjects from politics, videogames, religion, and movies, many (not all commenters) people do this. It's obnoxious and can get truely ridicolous!
It's either that some posters are trolling, have narrow-minded uber-jaded-ness, elitism or just A**hat douchbaggery. It's ridiculous.
I'm not refering to people that give a clear, reasonable, fair, understandable and well explained opinion. It's fine to simply say something like "I didn't like some of the CG animation, and I feel it could of been done better in some scenes", but people rather post things along the lines of "omg, CG fail, it sucks!" ffs is that ever uncalled for!
I don't get why they keep repeating the same overly negative comments and contrived talking points meant only to trigger frivolous arguments or to seemingly impose their own negativity laced opinions on people on Youtube, IMdb, AICN's Talkback, or on i09 comment section, I don't see the point to that.
Is it to "convert" people to have the same opinion as them? is it to push that they are somekind of superior authority? Is it to piss on everyone's cereal?
