I don't know why they would kill Gem. I think she is the most beautiful program ever created and I really liked her voice.
Can they re create her? I think I love her

Now there is a possibility that Gem AND Daft Punk found three of those light-glider thingys and flew away using the explosion as propulsion! And Castor being the annoying weirdo he is, died in the explosion.

I'm sure the Audio Programs Guy and Thomas (Daft Punk) escaped after Flynn et all split.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing that Castor just allowed himself to die in the Movie. Events of TRON:Evolution aside, Castor seems like the master survivor. A mix of Avon from Blakes 7 and David Bowie. I can't force myself to accept that he would'nt have some sort of escape plan.

While we're at it ... is there a consensus on why Castor and Gem have white circuitry glow? Isn't that supposed to be exclusive to users and their apprentices?

The distinctions between programs and their glows is pretty much a mish-mash if you ask me. I've seen Green labeled as activists (why would you advertise that?), white as users, red/orange as military/Clu's followers and blue as basics. At first I thought Gem and Castor might be Isos because in Evolution it seemed the Isos were mostly white in glow. In the magazine they just called out White/Silver as the "Sirens" - so does that include Castor?
I don't really understand it.

Yeah, I kind of think that they both survived - hole in the floor evacuation tube - escape pod, whatever. Castor wouldn't be up there that high without an escape plan.

Okay, this is from the Disney TRON Legacy site so, I guess it's to be canon. I found these out when I built my program.
Individualist is Blue
Leader is OrangeRed
Activist is White
Supporter is Red
I guess by the time of the movie, the Green faction is supposed to be extinct or something.

Green I think were survivalists, mid-level Programs. One of the combatants in the pod carosel that rises up at the begining of the Disc War game had green. Yup, Bostrum was created by ISO's in hiding for refuge.
I guess ISO's had different colors.
Quorra has blue, Gibson had Green, Radia had white, and Abraxas was yellow.

An Iso named Gibson found a pool of energy under a spot in the Outlands and founded the building of Bostrom colony.
The surivivalist faction started up there. It wasn't a "refuge" per se as it was built long before "the purge", and appears in the wii game T:E Battlegrids which takes place around 1985 in the Tron universe timeline.

Yeah, the colors are a little confusing. In the Wii and PSP games you even see programs with purple and pink colors. There's also light blue and dark blue. Not sure what ever color means, if anything other than personal preferance.
