The animated series just going into production will show what The Grid looked like long before "the purge" which should be nice to see.

That and I read that the producers of the movie are keeping any story elements not used in the TL as possible stories for TRON Uprising. They said in particular they want to give more backstory to characters like Bartik and his friends.

from what Kosinski had hinted a little about the underground resistance and different factions, it seemed like Bartik was a fairly important figure in the underground resistance, so it was sad to see his fate in Tron Legacy.... that was harsh, and he had a bada** scar on his face too, poor Bartik
