They addressed that when they showed a globe in the middle of CLU's big Hitler speech. On a more serious note, the stuff he read could have been seriously outdated by 2010. You never know with those kind of things.

In my own little Tron world, there IS a program called Britannica. I'm just saying.  (there has to be. Otherwise it seems strange to me that there would be all sorts of stuff that Sam-and now Quorra--would refer to and Tron and the other programs would be like, "huh?" and you can't tell me they wouldn't want to look it up!)
