*pretends like it's June 1982 a month before the release of TRON, and is just some random Sci Fi fan*

" The CGI on the MCP looks fake! His mouth looks weird and stretched out, and it doesn't look like real person's face at all! The MAGI demo real has better CGI!

This Tron movie looks like just another cheap cash-in movie filled with special effects and action and has no story at all.
Even the background music is generic and shallow, I've heard a better soundtrack in Star Wars! And that Journey song! oh my god, Journey is just awful bubble gum pop music that young people get drunk and snort coke too! They have no good music at all!
So, like, people that think the MCP looks good need to see an eye doctor!"

The above is not directed at or refering to any particular person(s). This is just a "what if" scenario, not an attack or a flame, so please don't take it that way. I'm *not* suggesting or implying that people can't post their own opinions either.

What? You didn't like ?? Lol, kidding. Clu looks pretty cool in those images. Would be funny for someone in 1981 to be critical of 1982 Tron CGI. What would they have to compare it to, Pong? They wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on. We have CGI legs to stand on today where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I also thought the MCP was SUPPOSED to look... off.

Even after 99% of his power gets ripped off, revealing the tower-guardian-ish guy with a human face, he STILL looks... off.

Did they use the same CG model in Evolution as they did for Tron Legacy?

:-)

On a separate note, I am having a movie marathon of movies from my childhood, Cloak and Dagger is next!! What is that movie where the kids build a time machine from an old 'tilt a whirl' carnival ride?

Explorers. That movie has a couple of VERY Tron-ish CGI sequences in it too.

I doubt they used the exact same models as the needs of a 3D object or character in a movie are much more intense than what a game engine/home computer can handle. However they have said that they worked directly with the movie effects people and shared resources. This could mean that they used some of the same textures, or even some of the models as a starting point to create the in-game versions.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Couldn't they? Both games and CGI can use metaballs, stretchy meshes, and the like, and those models are usually dynamic. You can choose to have it consist of 1000 triangles or 100,000 triangles.

Well in my experience the only way to decrease the number of polygons is have whatever program you're using automatically try to cull them while still keeping the shapes you want. This usually leads to very mixed results and it's often more work to fix the problems than to start from scratch.
As far as the skeletons, etc. used for the animations, it would really depend on the systems being used. There are all sorts of variables that change when you go from one program to another, and it can be a real headache getting them to work together correctly. It again comes down to "is it more work to start from scratch or use the existing resource". Even moving a 3D model from one game engine to another is a big issue, so moving a model that's setup for a movie production into a game environment is likely to be an order of magnitude more difficult.
On the other hand this person says he made the models of Quorra and Clu at both "cinematic and game resolution" so perhaps if the same person works on both it is a cost effective method.http://iansorensen.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/tron-evolution-sneek-peek/abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Please indicate where all this "disrespect" from earlier was coming from. All I saw were folks who were disagreeing.

Since your so hell-bent on keeping this going and just won't leave it alone here is another example, page 2:

Do you EVER see why anyone is complaining? LMAO! And... Epic? Whoa, boy. Optical exam. Go. Go, now.

I second that. Someone on here has become hyper-sensitive to any criticism or negative observation made about the movie. Oh by the way, Lens Crafters is having a 50% off sale right now.

pretty much if u took the time to read through the posts before u started posting in this particular thread..you would have realized ppl were being a little disrespectful of each others opinions and cracking stupid "jokes"

but what do I know right? I'm just an overly optimistic Tron fan who apparently feels it's stupid that people have negative opinions regarding the new film and I'm in desperate need of seeing an optometrist and getting laid right?

Deadly Disks Wrote:Grrr. Would you calm down and quit with the negatives? And quit putting yourself down. There's nothing wrong with the people who are excited about the upcoming movie. Despite my own reservations, I still am happy that a Tron sequel is just around the corner, and I hope that most of my complaints add up to little when I actually see the film.

But you need to read your own posts when you are citing those examples. Saying stuff like "whoopie friggin do" is just as inflammatory as the funny yet childish Lenscrafters jokes. Anytime any one of us says things like this, we should be ready for appropriate reactions that are at least on the same level--and I think you received an appropriate response. Let it roll off of you. All that matters is how YOU feel about the movie.

Stop getting so upset. You're cheating yourself out of the joy and excitement you have about the upcoming film. It's okay that people think the CGI is too fake and that Daft Punk isn't a good choice for the music, and it's okay that you disagree.

Let's not turn the Sector into another Star Wars/Star Trek mess. Remember that 3/4 of the people that are in here now are the folks who we all knew would arrive with the new film and claim they were always TRON fans. We all knew this was coming and it did. We're not a select club of nerds that love a cult classic anymore. Our beloved little film is now a mainstream sci-fi franchise, for better or for worse.

The flamers will be gone in due time, leaving all us real fans to debate the films back and forth, and all of our opinions are valid.

Let's enjoy throwing things back and forth and not get so dang emotional about it all.

I'm not sure Tron has gone completely mainstream yet.. there are still a ton of ppl who are like "wtf is Tron?" however it prob wll be more mainstream once the movie hits

I know they shared some "resources" between the game and the movie, but the main issue with sharing models between a movie like Tron Legacy and Tron Evolution is that Legacy's models have ridiculously high numbers of polygons. Video games will likely always be behind movies in the sense that video games cannot display as many polygons at a time as a movie can. The reason behind this is that video games are rendering everything in real time (for people that don't know, a rendered image is what you see in a finished cgi product). For movies, the whole film has already been rendered on a set of 100+ computers dedicated to rendering that movie. It's not being rendered frame-by-frame as you watch, like a video game. Because movies are rendered, converted to a video file, and put on a DVD/Blu-Ray/Laserdisc/other entertainment medium before you watch them, they require significantly less processing power to view. A video game, on the other hand, is rendering each frame in real time. Because of this, the number of polygons in a game world has to be significantly lower than that of a movie. A movie won't slow down if it has a ton of polygons, it'll just take longer to render. The same applies to games, in a way. They don't really slow down, it just takes longer for them to render each frame.

Anyone who legitimately read that whole thing gets 10 points.

Trailers were being run during the World Series and currently during The Walking Dead on AMC. I don't watch much t.v. nowdays except travel channel so I dunno where else the trailers are being shown.

I wasn't exactly paying attention but I was afraid that some people were genuinely having feelings hurt.

I mean, INTERNET: SERIOUS BUSINESS stuff going on.

Not everyone is able to easily differentiate the true purpose of text/words on screen. :X I have trouble myself ... because I tend to take things at face value/almost literally.

I just want everyone to be aware of what I'm trying to do: defuse any possible tensions with uh, I dunno, silly movie quotes (Yes, I quoted Strangelove earlier when I said "NO FIGHTING IN THE WAR ROOM!") :Vorder abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
