While the trailer is pretty dang awesome, I think it's a bit too spoiler-ish. But hopefully many that see the trailer or the tv spots will become interested in seeing the movie.

Yeah, the trailor is spoilish, I agree, but if it helps bring people in to see it, then that's good. I'm one who doesn't mind spoilers, it actually makes me wonder how it got to that point in the first place, but it is understandable that others don't want to know what happens; let the whole movie be a suprise in of it self.
Also, on the moustache debate, I don't think Flynn, CGI or not, really would have looked good with one. It may help with the Uncanny Valley affect, but a simple moustache just seems out of place with him in my oppinion. It just somehow doesn't fit his face, but it's more then likely my prefrence.

i don't think the trailer is THAT spoilerish..i mean...it is a little spoilerish but for those of us who have read at least part 1 of Betrayal it's kinda obvious that Clu is interested in the user world and then the fact that the first TV spot has flynn saying "Clu's planning something" along with Clus quote at the end of the new trailer only confirms the possibility of what Clu is trying to do.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

And that is why they use rendering farms that are high end computers to do the movies and save it on a file somewhere on the server as they do movies and for game wise They ease up for playing games. Since if they used the technologies for the movie no one could afford the rig that they used to play the game itself. Or a really good high performance computer like the cray cx1 to play the game itself.
TRON.dll Wrote:Tron Fanatic Wrote:cirlin Wrote:I doubt they used the exact same models as the needs of a 3D object or character in a movie are much more intense than what a game engine/home computer can handle. However they have said that they worked directly with the movie effects people and shared resources. This could mean that they used some of the same textures, or even some of the models as a starting point to create the in-game versions. |
Couldn't they? Both games and CGI can use metaballs, stretchy meshes, and the like, and those models are usually dynamic. You can choose to have it consist of 1000 triangles or 100,000 triangles.

I know they shared some "resources" between the game and the movie, but the main issue with sharing models between a movie like Tron Legacy and Tron Evolution is that Legacy's models have ridiculously high numbers of polygons. Video games will likely always be behind movies in the sense that video games cannot display as many polygons at a time as a movie can. The reason behind this is that video games are rendering everything in real time (for people that don't know, a rendered image is what you see in a finished cgi product). For movies, the whole film has already been rendered on a set of 100+ computers dedicated to rendering that movie. It's not being rendered frame-by-frame as you watch, like a video game. Because movies are rendered, converted to a video file, and put on a DVD/Blu-Ray/Laserdisc/other entertainment medium before you watch them, they require significantly less processing power to view. A video game, on the other hand, is rendering each frame in real time. Because of this, the number of polygons in a game world has to be significantly lower than that of a movie. A movie won't slow down if it has a ton of polygons, it'll just take longer to render. The same applies to games, in a way. They don't really slow down, it just takes longer for them to render each frame.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I like the newest track "TRON LEGACY" (end titles) that Daft Punk recently released..it has their usual electronica flavor to it but the orchestral parts have a wendy carlos feel to it.
