“Tron Uprising” is the name of the new animated series from director Charlie Bean (“Samurai Jack”) headed to Disney in 2012.

Its voice cast, according to Variety, includes Bruce Boxleitner, Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry and Lance Henriksen.

Wood, who will star in FX’s doggie sitcom “Wilfred” as well, plays in “Uprising” a rebel leader inside The Grid.

I'm really excited about this. The cast sounds great. I'm a little confused about the story though. Apparently there is a microseries featuring Beck (played by Elijah Wood) coming in 2011 but then there's also a full series coming in 2012... also starring Elijah Wood. So is the microseries just an introduction? Variety mentioned being shown a clip of the show...where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

That guy was only a producer on the Samurai Jack team, and I didn't even know that until I read the article. The guy that created Samurai Jack is Genndy Tartakovsky. Still looking forward to Tron Uprising, but don't be expecting much in the way of the style that made Samurai Jack so legendary. They obviously just named-dropped the show to enhance the credentials.

Why use Norton AV or AVG to protect your computer when you could be using TRON instead!?

Ah, okay. I sort of just skimmed over that part. Regardless, I'm pretty psyched about it. Lance Henriksen and Bruce Boxleitner on one show? Too much awesome to be contained.

If it doesn't blend 3D CGI I dunno if it'll be worth it. Tron as traditional animation might ruin the feel of it.

I hope this series will have a proper conclusion. I was very not-happy with how "Gargoyles" was cancelled, and then that lack-luster spin off was made... blah.

Interesting story details! Tron's involvement though makes me question more on his role in Betrayal in Evolution. He appears in both (looking slightly different in each medium, as well), and that timeline seems to indicate Tron Evolution brings us up to the year 2000. Perhaps Uprising will take place in the the 10 year gap between Evolution and Legacy?

You may wonder why I'm obsessing over this, but you have to acknowledge this is a big canon issue when one considers Tron himself
SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read:
...at some point prior to Legacy becomes Rinzler (99% certain, just don't know how). So I figure we don't see Tron go to the orange side of the code in Betrayal (someone would've blurted that out by now, and Evolution is anyone's guess. Perhaps Tron trains Beck sometime in the 90s concurrent with the events of Evolution, but we only see things in the game from Anon's point of view. Thus, no mentions of this General Tesler guy.

Not having Betrayal nor Evolution is really keeping me in the dark about how events in the Tron timeline play out. I'm so confused now! :s
