I went to Cupertino instead - much closer. While in line met some cool people, young and old. Wow, the movie looks really great. Me and one other guy brought our identity disks. I had mine fluttering a little as the footage started and someone from the staff asked me to come over and turn it off.

They told us that two people with night scopes would be watching us for cameras/pirating. I was kinda like... uhh, this isn't the while movie so... wtf?

What an incredible showing. Can't wait to see the full movie, and I hope it's at least 2 hours long. Preferably more. I'm glad they made it so you watch the 2-D parts with the glasses on... My fears about this film being one of Disney's cheap old-franchise ripoffs are now completely vanquished. I know it looked good up until now, but resurrections of old franchises had just fooled me too many times in the past for me to relax until now.

It was the manager of the theater who gave a little introductory speech. I cracked a smirk because it was obvious he wasn't used to addressing people (odd for a manager, no?). He sounded like one of those self-conscious kids giving a book report in grade school.

We got the Rinzler and Daft Punk postcards, and the new poster. Definitely my favorite of all the posters too - the one that hearkens back to the pose of Tron & Yori in the original film poster.

I'd seen the shorter version of the Flynn's arcade scene in the trailers. But seeing it in its entirety in high-def 3D probably could've pulled a tear from my eye if I let it. "Separate Ways" STILL has not gotten out of my head.

Had to resist the urge to keep from reciting the Game Grid briefing. And wow, leave it to Disney to find a way of having a family film that features a quad of girls rip off a man's clothes, heheh.

Nice little throwbacks to the original, like when Sam glances up at the Recognizer bridge, revealing the classic helm. And was that the same handheld game that Jeff had in the original film?

And as someone else pointed out, "Comeon Flynn, your move." I got chills from that. Now I already knew that somehow Clu was involved in this, but hadn't really given much thought as to how they got it to make sense. And now my brain is whirling with that one.

And I'm still holding out that we get to see a 'right angles' Lightcycle battle at some point during this movie.

Decided to go back to the Disney Store in the mall afterwards. They're still pretty skimpy with their Tron merchandise. All kiddie toys. No adult apparel at all, save the glow-in-the-dark retro tee that's been in Hot Topic for months.

Oh yeah, and the theater seats. Everyone seems to be reporting the same thing, that the theaters weren't filled to capacity, yet we all know that the tickets all "sold out." Does this mean that there weren't as many tickets as there were seats to begin with, or did that many people who got them not show up (which could go one of two ways, people who got them forgot or couldn't make it, or some people who got them were griefers who had no interest in the film anyhow)?
