Turn off the try me mode on the cycle, or disc? I've tried that on my disc and it doesn't work, so assume you're referring to the cycle.

@Traahn

The Deluxe Lightcycle didn't stay lit because I'm assuming it was in demo mode. Kevin Flynn's Deluxe Cycle has a three-way switch: demo mode, off, and on in that order.

TRON 2.0 (PC) name - TRON.dll
I'll play any mode, but I'm best at LC.

PSN - TRON-dll
XBOX Live/Games for Windows Live - TRONdll

I even traveled to walmart which is NOT local for me, and they didnt have anything either. I called the TRU a couple towns over and they have it so I guess I'm going there tomorrow. So annoyed that everything around me is inept at putting stuff on the shelves...

So i wasnt able to go to the far TRU, but i called my local one and they said they DID have the TRON stuff in stock. I go there and ALL they have is the throwing disc. UGGGGGGGH.

These toys are only powered by tiny watch batteries. While it would of been neat if they a stay lit option, I'm sure it wasn't included because these are *toys* after all, and young kids would burn through the batteries really quick because they probably wouldn't turn off the LED's.

I'm sure the deluxe disx and light cycle are designed to minimize on draining the battery too quickly.

I still dont understand why the Light Cycle and delux disc didn't use like two AAA's, they are small enough to fit in the delux Light cycles and the delux disc, and AAA's are easier to find then LR44's and have a longer life.

Any Canadian's here who have been lucky enough to find Tron Legacy stuff in stores? Anyone in the Toronto area or the GTA?

I've been to countless stores and have found NOTHING. It's getting a little frustrating!

Thanks!

last week i emailed spinmaster regarding a few questions i had with the toy, due to confusion with toy descriptions by retailers -including what's on disney's very own tron site with things like tri-color light change and projectiles. (wheat king on this board was very helpful too with his answer in this thread.)

today i got a response from customer service. i also asked permission before sharing this.

hopefully this breakdown will clarify things for those of us that were curious about it:

Thanks for your email. First and foremost, thanks for your interest in the TRON product line. We are super excited about all of the toys and thrilled they have finally hit store shelves so everyone else can have a chance to see how awesome they are.

I'm sorry to hear that you have seen some conflicting information about some of the products online. Because there has been so much buzz about this particular line there are some details out there that do not reflect what the final products are like. I've also seen some sites that have listed the details for *all* of the TRON products as the details for each individual product which is inaccurate and leads to some of the confusion about why Light Cycles don't have projectiles. We are working with our major retail partners (e.g. Toys R Us, Wal-mart, Target) to make sure the information on their sites is up to date and accurate.

I can confirm some of the details you had questions about and this should help differentiate between the core and deluxe vehicles:

Kevin Flynn's Light Cycle - This model lights up and it's a sort of blue/white light. The one I have at my desk looks more white but it has a slight tint to it so I suspect that it looks a bit more blue in the You Tube video you have seen.

Deluxe Light Cycle - This model features the pop-up brakes (listed as "functioning air brakes on the box), motion activated sound and it lights up. This model has a different light depending on the model. I've got a Kevin Flynn version at my desk and it's the same blue/white kind of light as the Light Cycle. I think the Clu model glows orangey/yellow just like Clu's Light Cycle.

One Man Light Jet - This is the model that shoots projectiles! This set includes a Black Guard figure who fits into the Light Jet and the jet lights up as well. The one I have with me lights up orange.

In terms of the tri-color lights I think this may have been an idea from earlier in the design process that did not make it into the final product. As far as we know any of the vehicles that light up only have one light and its specific to the character who owns the vehicle - e.g. blue/white for Kevin Flynn, orangey/yellow for Clu, etc.

I hope this is helpful to you. If you need any more help please let me know.

Sincerely,

Andrew

interesting....
so does this mean we have to buy multiple Clu light cycles in order for a sentry, a black guard, and Rinzler to have light cycles?

Guys series 1 just hit, I'm sure there are more characters and vehicles planned for future waves. I'm just happy to have everything that's been released this far.

I picked up the 2" figure packs at Target today, using the DPCI #. There are 6 different 2-packs. Their product is still not on the shelf but the young lady that helped me said the toys will be on the shelf this Sunday (Oct. 10th).

I *love* the delux disc.

*but* I do wish it had the option to keep it fully lit up for like 20 sec then auto shuts off. The sound fx speaker should be in a different spot since one's hand covers it when holding it properly. The activation switch should of been on the underside too. Other than that, the animated light effects are brilliant and the accuracy and detail of the disc is great.

The translucent outer ring edge is even blacklight reflective/refractive and appears to "glow when placed in front of my 18" black light.

I'm just wondering if someone actually got a hold of CLU's deluxe lightcycle that's supposedly going to walmart though no one has spotted any merchandise on their shelves at all however, one person said they had spotted it elsewhere despite it being an exclusive or so to speak.

Have there been any reports of these showing up at Wal-Mart yet? I haven't heard any. Sometimes they take a little longer then other retailers to start carrying movie lines from untested movie lines. Toy lines like Prince of Persia and Lightning Thief never even made it into their stores. I believe the Star Trek line took a little extra time to show up there. Good to know they are coming at least.

The Clu cycle someone mentioned was the RC zero-gravity version, not the one for the figures.

i can confirm it was my mistake: the clu light cycle i saw was the *zero gravity* one at toys r us.

the walmart exclusive seems to be the clu deluxe light cycle, which anyone has yet to spot anywhere in a physical store.

the walmart in my area has nothing in stock with tron legacy. and, we have yet to hear a thing about actual availability in-stores with this clu deluxe light cycle.

...
in regards to the deluxe indentity disc, i took mine apart to see what it looks like inside. i haven't modded it but it's very easy to open with only a jeweler's screwdriver, i'll be uploading it later to my flickr set for reference purposes and for the initiated who would like to try to mod it themselves...

that one youtube video lacking a description or explanation appears to be bypassing parts of the circuitry since the light stays on and not flash patterns. he/she may have eliminated the sound as well but we can't tell from the video. my guess is that the whole thing was re-wired to get to the leds while still using the switch. but that's just a guess without any information than what is seen.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I don't see how a Tron fan wouldn't want displays that remain lit; why they wouldn't want to have glowing Tron shrines to bathe in light. We have action figures, toys and movie-related displays from other movies that just sit on our desks or shelves day in and day out that don't light up or stay lit. Tron, of all movies, should be one where we can finally rejoice in the light. As a Tron fan, I enjoy things that light up. I wanted some Tron toys to perch atop my desk next to my glowing keyboard and mouse, so I can turn the lights off and absorb the wonderful glow of all things Tron. Instead, everything is only staying lit for a few seconds and it makes it impossible for me to fully appreciate my Tron purchases that are toys, yes, but also displays for me and many other folks who saw Tron in 1982 and don't play with toys at their age any more, per se. If the original movie had toys that lit up, this wouldn't be much of a concern. Instead, some of us have waited almost 30 years to deck their room up in Tron lights. It'd be interesting to know the market breakdown of who is buying these toys and what their intent is. I suspect a fair number are older who just want to put them on display. The deluxe disc comes with a stand, so it's obvious they intended for it to also be somewhat of a display.

Yep, I got it working. Next up, the action figures.

There's a 68.71% chance you're right.

out of curiousity, i disassembled my Sam Flynn lightcycle to see if there was any room for improvement (just can't leave anything alone). I thought i'd share my findings with everyone who may want to do the same thing.

There's not a whole lot of room in the fenders to increase light output via adding some SMD LEDs. It'll be a tight fit. no way to add any bearings to the wheels and i COULD carve slots into the engine and add an LED. Hope this is useful to anyone else.
