I already know of the monorail/light cycle ads on the sides of it, but does anyone know of any other Tron-themed...things going on at WDW? We'll be there over Christmas so it will be a few weeks after Tron:Legacy opens nationally (Which I plan to see before going)
So...anyone know of anything going on at WDW Tron-wise?

Not that I know of (other than the Tron-O-Rails). Apparently they're really going to step up the marketing in October with the toy releases and marvel comic releases. Definitely keep an eye out for possible Tron Legacy stuff in the stores-- especially if they're pins.

At this time, there is no plans for anything TRON related coming to Disneyworld. Any attractions would have had to be in development for a long time now. They might do character greets depending on movie sales. However with the movie coming out in December too, I seriously doubt they would have anything ready come December if they wait for movie totals, which I'm guessing they would considering they hardly ever do anything in advance. The only thing that comes to mind is making a character for Lotso for Toy Story 3, which was a guaranteed money maker.

My dad works at Disney Central Shops and hasn't been working on anything Tron related. Although he has been working on the new Star Tours ride. And it's going to be sweet. I hope they come out with a Tron interactive game at Disney Quest. That place would be perfect for a Tron related game. My family and I actually enjoy Disney Quest more than the theme parks. They could replace the Aladdin Carpet race with a Light Cycle game. With the VR glasses it would be amazing.
As far as a ride. I could see something at Tomorrow Land or Epcot. There isn't a lot of room in Tomorrow Land, unless they closed down one of the other rides or expanded. But being that it's fantasy based, it would fit there best, theme wise. Now Epcot has had the Wonders of Life pavilion closed for some time. It would be great if they converted it into a Tron themed environment with a Tron ride to replace the Body Wars. Maybe even have things related to computer and internet advancement, being that Epcot is more educationally themed.

I just went to WDW this past Friday. Other than the Tron Legacy Monorail and a few parking lot mini billboards, there is nothing there. Not even an old school Tron or Discs of Tron arcade game in the Tomorrow Land arcade. My wife didn't feel like going to Epcot, so I don't know if there was anything there. But differently not anything at MK or HS.

I know. But so is Ms Pacman, Galaga, Donkey Kong, etc., yet they were there at the Tomorrow Land arcade. Arcades are a spit in the bucket for Disney. I'm surprised they wouldn't have an arcade machine that was based off of a Disney property in Tomorrow Land. Disney usually doesn't do a lot of promoting of there new movie releases in the parks, but at least have a Tron arcade if your going to have classic arcade machines.

When I was there a few months ago, I did not see anything. If you wear your space paranoids pin and/or your tron shirt, you will get some comments from cast members. I remember one dude in one of the shops with ears (which could be any of them @_@) and one who checked us in to the Polynesian (Cant believe I spelled that right on the first try!)

I'm sure I impressed some people my first trip with my Tron shirt. (I've made it a habit to wear a Tron shirt every time I'm at Disney World.  )

I asked around, but most of the employees didn't seem to know what Tron was, or at least played dumb. My dad still hasn't seen the original and has worked for Disney for 30 years. It's easy in a big company for the right had to not know what the left is doing.

Disney Quest is still up and running at Downtown Disney. Now all the clubs in Pleasure Island closed down in late 2007. If you haven't been to Disney Quest and like arcade games and unique interactive entertainment, I'd suggest going to Disney Quest over any of the theme parks. Of course, this is coming from someone who has been on all the rides too many times to count, and only to Disney Quest 3 times.
We'll just have to see after the movie comes out were Disney takes it in the theme parks. I think a Tron ride is way over due. It has all the elements for a perfect ride. A roller coaster that resembles a light cycle would be great. Have two tracks that intertwine around each other giving the feeling of a light cycle battle/race.
