I hope this isn't another red herring... do you guys remember the scrambled Light Cycles pcitures? Once our more diligent members of Tron Sector had reassembled the image, we were left with two codes that did absolutely nothing.
However, I will say that on Flynn Lives, in a thread discussing those very pics, the "members" made several references as to how the pics were confusing, and eventually concluded that they could derive nothing from them.
I believe this to be a hint from 42Entertainment that the images did not play an integral part in the ARG, and next time I'll be more open to such comments made by Flynn Lives members. As such, there is no new discussion on the cards that confirm nor deny their importance to the ARG.
Food for thought.
Oh, and also, I receive the Kraz-Bot! postcard in the mail Saturday the third.

Awe! That'll be a bummer if this was all for nothing... in trying to figure out if this was an ARG event or not. But at least you still got the cards. That'll still be fun for a collection. ^^
and on a side note, anyone going to SDCC should probably take the cards there, to at least get them signed. ^^where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

These ENCOM games. I know the artwork is made mainly for the ARG and everything... but I really would love to play these games if they are in the style of classic of early 80's Arcade style games. It would be cool to bring back golden-age arcade style gaming with some new games again. It would give us a reason to open the arcades back up...
Just a thought..
Anyways, I've only received one card but I'm so happy about that. Awesome stuff. |

That would be epic! But, how many people have Atari 2600's?
And to broaden a little on that Idea, if games are really made for the ARG, maybe a DS, Wii, Xbox and/or PS3 versions would be cool to have, because that way, not only do we get to play them, we could also be able to play/compete with each other, get high scores, and maybe could unlock more ARG stuff. |

LOL! Well, can your inner old fart forgive if I say that I played an Atari (not sure if it's the 2600 model) and loved it? :P But it's a bit sad that the system itself was a bit damaged when I played it. But in your previous post, you took the Arc Wars, and MIDI'd it. Could we hear what you made? It could be Daft Punk, or it could be from the first movie. |
Tried to upload it, got an error, stay tuned....

I wonder if we are being sent these as just a clue that Flyn Lives has something happening at SDCC and nothing more? like what if we are thinking too deep into these post cards?

If I had to guess, I bet that these games actually have been made, and they'll be at Flynn's Arcade at ComiCon, and the codes on the backs of the cards will line up with codes presented in the game. So say there's an Arc Wars game, and you beat a level, it'll give you a set of pixels that will overlay the set already on the Arc Wars card. And when all the codes are discovered for all the cards, each card will have some sort of message.
EDIT: OR, perhaps there will be arcade games there made by ENCOM that have some sort of card reader, where you insert the postcard and it'll take you to some special screen/level/thingie.

You think we're bad, you should head over to Unfiction and take a look at the pages of dissection regarding these post cards. Some of the thinking over there can get downright scary at times. Gotta love those guys for their dedication, though. |
That made me laugh out loud.
Maybe they're just sending them out to let us know they're alive.

Geez Louise, I disappear for a couple months and the TRON Legacy world has the nerve to keep on turning. Why I oughta...
Anyway, I cast my vote for the idea that the postcard codes are part of a dot-matrix letter pattern, with one or more pieces still missing. Looking at the work on WikiBruce's page , I think we can even surmise what some of the letters might be:
C??O?S##????*?@
The ? I can't even begin to make out.
The ## could be QU, or maybe the first one is a G?
The * is probably a T, but might be an I.
The @ is probably a P, R, or possibly B.
So, one possibility:
C??O?SQU????T?P
(The 6x6 nature of the characters is actually problematic. A 7x7 character size would have worked much better, but possibly been harder to visually decode. Plus it would have required another postcard. :-) )

Looking at it again, the last character could also be a question mark - an interesting thought!
Adjusting:
C _ _ O _ S # # _ _ _ _ * _ @
The _ I can't even begin to make out.
The ## could be QU, or maybe the first one is a G?
The * is probably a T, but might be an I.
The @ is probably a P, R, or possibly B - but might be a question mark.
(Also, the S could be a 5...)
Anyway, one possibility:
C _ _ O _ S Q U _ _ _ _ T _ ?

RustyMuffler Wrote:wheat king Wrote:I got the Kraz-Bot! card. Anyone know how/why some are receiving multiple cards? |
Because a lot of people abused the system and signed up for multiple accounts. True, there are an honest few who legitimately have multiple Tron fans in the same household, but I know of at least two people on the Unfiction boards who had bragged about having multiple accounts in order to hoard swag.
|
I didn't know you could have multipe accounts with the same physical address. I assumed the system wouldn't let you. Since I started my new job in Feburary and I'm in MO I have that set up as my address. My wife has her account set up to go to my home back in MS. And my boys wanted to join in too so one is having stuff set to my work address and the other is having stuff sent to my mother in TN. I hope this isn't considered being dishonest. The whole family will be here in MO when the film comes out and the whole family plans on wearing the pins and badges to the movie. Yes we are a bunch of geeks. On top of that we are planning on making it the whole familes first movie ever seen in IMAX 3D. Ok... super geeks.
And yes we got 4 postcards... but get this... they are ALL the Astro Gunner card. What are the odds? Don't answer that... being a geek I can calculate it myself.
Anyone else have extras of the other 3? I'd be willing to trade my extras to get the family a set. I think they'd look great framed. If you are interested, PM me and I'll get back to you when I can.
