Release: Dec 10, 2010 in IMAX 3D
Trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf9Xl84b9Wo
SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read: It actually looks very, very good. Familiar characters, caters to the younger crowd/family, and is a sequel to 2 successful previous films. I have a bad feeling that TL is going to be out grossed by a huge margin, turn a very marginal profit, and as a result will force any future Tron projects to the very back burner. On the bright side, cgi should have progressed to solving the uncanny valley so that they could make another sequel with cgi versions of Bridges and Boxleitner if they decide to make a sequel in another 20 years from now.

Well, that movie comes out on Christmas, and TL comes out at least a week before so that' s good news to TL. So for at least a week, I don't think many people will be worried about which movie to go see in theater's.
Also, can't always rule that out because another big is film comming out. Way too many people have been waiting almost 3 decades to see a sequal to Tron. I don't think Disney's gonna make any short cuts in making TL, at least I hope not.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Lol.
The viral marketing and ad campaign for Tron Legacy is pretty huge and the postive buzz is building.
"The Dawn Treader" doesn't have that same level of advertizing/viral marketing as Tron Legacy.
Prince Caspian kind of fizzled out.. and so will Dawn Treader.
It looks cool and all and I will go see it but IMO it doesn't hold a candle to Tron Legacy as a film or as much box office pull in my view.
Many sci-fi geeks and computer geeks that love Tron will come out in droves to see the first new Tron film after 28 yrs... and if/when the positive word of mouth gets around more people hearing about it and seeing the trailer on TV...
I predict it will be far far more successful than Dawn Treader. IMO.
If Toy Story 3 came out a week before TL, then yeah it'd have major compitition.. but Dawn Treader? Eh... I don't think so...

From my observations on a different forum, most people had no idea that Dawn Treader was even being made /at all/.
I don't think Tron Legacy will have a problem.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I think between the whole Flynnlives.com, arcadeaid.com, and all the other viral internet marketing for Tron Legacy, the Comic-Con coverage, the trailers, and the buzz of Daft Punk doing the music, Tron Legacy will definitely be the movie to see this Holiday season.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I think you may start to see "ARG burnout" soon after comicon.

The ARG been on break for over a month and Flynn Lives will probably do something around comic con and then take a break again and do little game challeges a couple months before Decemeber..
I don't really see the ardent players of the ARG being becoming all that "burnt out" just yet.

I agree, "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is at a much greater disadvantage because there is nothing new for the audience to see. This will be the third trip to Narnia, and after the first two films, there isn't much "magic" left in that experience. Many parents will take kids to see a Narnia movie because C.S. Lewis and Narnia are code for "safe" kid entertainment. However, I would not expect "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" to rocket onto the holiday scene and blow TRON Legacy away unless TRON Legacy has a very poor script. If the TRON Legacy script is good, or even excellent, it should more than hold its own against Narnia; or anything else Hollywood puts out at Christmas.

*If* the script of Tron Legacy wasn't good, I think both Steven Lisberger and Jeff Bridges would raise a verbal sh**storm about it, and not even of gotten involved with the sequel at all....
You really see Mr. Bridges, oscar and golden globe winner settling for a bad script? I don't think he would.
Steve would really raise a hellstorm too if it was crap.
From all that I've seen, and the the things commented upon by Joseph Kosinski, Steve Lisberger, and Sean Bailey, along with the marketing/advertizing campaign has given me the impression that Tron Legacy will do very very well.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I am very worried about the movie for a couple of reasons.
Too many of the big budget movies end up with interference from the studio marketing big wigs and end up being "tweaked" to please the 18-30 male demographic. Nowdays that means lots of flashy action, youtube style flash cut edits and very little storyline to confuse the current generation the majority of which strives on instant gratification and has the collective memory span and reasoning power of a paper bag.
Then add the fact that by this winter the economy is going to really be in the shitter and people won't have anything left on their already maxed out credit cards after christmas shopping and families won't be going to many movies.
The result will most likely mirror how the original opened in July of 1982: disappointing box office and people saying that the movie is "strange", "weird" and this case "they just copied the matrix!".

Bridges didn't win the golden globe until 6 months after and the oscar 7 months after TE was done shooting.

Mr. Bridges originally wasn't going to do "Crazy Heart" cause it had no music in it involving the main character. The script was revised and Jeff's involvement **improved** the movie.
I am very certain that Jeff Bridges, and Steven Lisberger (Director, co-writter of TRON) would not of even gotten involved giving there input and more,
IF "Tron Legacy" was "only flashy vfx and action" and did not have substance to the plot/story as interwoven into the overall movie.
Quote from Joseph Konsinki interview with MTV:
"The focus was always to serve the story we are telling."
There's been a heavy focus many elements of the backstory (as a foundation that leads into the movie) with the content that's come from Flynn Lives and comments from Steve Lisberger, and Kosinski, and from images and such,
so some major elements of the plot/storyline that's been "spoiled" and IMO shows a pretty strong narrative story wise...

Tell that to James Cameron.

In 1982, no one knew how to operate a PC, let alone own one. Also, '82 was the beginning of the infamous video game market crash.
And Tron wasn't a flop. It made $33 million out of a $17-20 million budget. '82 also saw the release of movies like ET, Star Trek 2 and Poltergeist so the competition was a lot more killer than it's going to be in December 2010.

This isn't a recession, it is as Gerald Celente puts it THE GREATEST DEPRESSION and it is worldwide, not just in the u.s.
The articles you linked were from before now where 46 states are on the verge of bankruptcy, $13 trillion (bloomberg reports as high as $24 trillion) bailouts to the gamblers on wallstreet, record numbers of unemployment, record numbers losing unemployment benefits, college graduates with student loans only able to find minimum wage jobs, a chernobyl sized catastrophy in the gulf, a president that wants to push us into starting world war 3 by attacking iran and it goes on and on. Just wait until they start talking about austerity measures for the u.s.
I just hope that december and the movie release comes before tshtf.
