I just want to let any Robotech fan here (and any anime/animation fan for that matter) know that Mr. Carl Macek died last saturday of a heart attack at age 58.

I thank God for the life of Mr. Macek whose creative work, just like Mr. Lisberger's, inspired me greatly as I was growing up.

Wow, that's a shame. I know a lot of anime fans hated him, but I actually really became interested in anime thanks to Robotech. It was (and still is) one of my favorites. (Though I wasn't fond of Shadow Chronicles. But I know he had nothing to do with it.)

He was pretty active too, lately. Making a lot of appearances. And now, he's suddenly gone.

RIP Carl.
