SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read:I'm sure everyone also sensed in the IGN interview with Alan Bradley that he didn't really care about Sam for some reason. Made me think that perhaps he beamed Flynn into the computer long ago... and has baited Sam into the computer, too. He maybe wants to get rid of them both permanently... sigh. I'm not sure I want an evil Alan (or evil Kevin, for that matter). I'm hoping they're both still happy-go-lucky good characters, and friends. If not, I'm a little afraid it might tarnish my image of their characters whenever I watch the original Tron. Hopefully I can completely separate the two films if it turns out Alan or Kevin is evil in Tron Legacy, but I'm not positive I can; thus, my concern.
Mr. Sinistar's image comparison has me a little worried this may be confirming Alan has, indeed, turned a bit evil -- or there's something very wrong going on with his relationship with Kevin.
I admit that it's interesting that if Rinzler is Alan's evil alter-ego, he's hanging out with evil Clu (evil version of Kevin). I'm not blind. I can see how such a notion might make an interesting film. But my preference is to keep Alan and Kevin friends. If Alan is mean, hopefully he just got beamed with a mind-altering laser that is temporarily messing with his good judgment

I disagree with you Trahhn. I think Alan is with the good guys. I mean, look at how much ENCOM hates him, especially the CEO Kurt Hardington. If he's a bad guy, then ENCOM should know.

What's your take on why Alan acted the way he did when asked about Sam in the IGN interview, though? What was that all about?? Didn't make any sense to me at all... unless Alan doesn't like Sam, or his dad, or both. I'm puzzled.

Well, Alan Bradley wasn't terrifically thrilled with Kevin Flynn when Flynn was a recent part of Lora's love life. Perhaps that animosity turned into a long-standing grudge that finally took its toll on the relationship. It certainly would be an interesting twist to set Bradley up as the new Dillinger, imprisoning Flynn inside the computer -- and setting up Flynn's own program Clu as the gatekeeper!
But, as Rusty notes, such a move on Bradley's part would seem thoroughly out of character. Alan didn't care much for Kevin's cavalier style and genius-playboy mannerism, but Alan was at heart a principled man. Remember how much heartburn he had over even sneaking Flynn back into Encom. That tells me Bradley is a boyscout -- like TRON. For Bradley to be the bad guy... It would be typical Hollywood plot theatrics, but I am not sure it works.

My take on the Rinzler thing comes from the concept behind Tron Evolution game, that Clu was developed by flynn to infiltrate the system for some reason. He has been appropriating programs in the same way the MCP did in the original tron, hence having an entourage of "badass" programs to act as his body guards. It may be a new tron based program, but his functions may well be unknown

How can mere conjecture on a studio released picture be considered a "spoiler"?
Alan mentioned at the press conference that Tron is already used by Encom to keep people from stealing their games.
Maybe Clu 2.0 discovers a way to get access to the internet and Tron is brought in by Flynn to stop him from wreaking havoc worldwide.
Then again, maybe the "new order" programming that Tron mentions in the first movie now is directing him to destroy all programs which may be a "threat" (i.e. business competitors) to Encom and is helping Clu 2.0. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Maybe the original Tron program from 1982 was ported and upgraded with a patch file and then Flynn put him on a portable storage medium like a hard drive and popped in the hard drive into the computer system in his hidden room.....
I speculate Tron is in hiding,
Clu 2.0 after turning authoritarian and "bad" may have betrayed Tron and thinks he de-rezed Tron, but Tron survived termination.
(Maybe that Proof of Concept footage is sort of conceptually what might have happened; but with Tron seemingly falling over into a canyon and Clu thinking he plummeted and de-rezed...)
So Tron possibly "masked" himself and is now hidden, like in stealth mode or possible a masked "mole" among Clu's minions, and is closely monitering Clu's activities....

When you do a search of the net for the name Rinzler, a sizeable chunk of results concern sneakers

I hope that the writers don't have Alan Bradley betraying his best friend, Kevin Flynn. Even though Alan looks pretty p.o.'d about what's going down at ENCOM (that Kurt Hardington guy, to me, looks kinda shady in his picture), and even though he wasn't too cool with the whole issue with Flynn and Lora (and consequently, Tron being very protective of Yori) I doubt that Alan would backstab Flynn, and I doubt that Tron would. We'll see 9 months from now.
Read the recent update at Ain't It Cool yesterday - MAN! I wish I was one of those journalists who got to see everything before the general public - Disney's NDA is torture!!!! I mean, I don't wanna know everything before the film comes out, but they could release a little more, you know?
I just hope it's all worth the wait in the end. We'll see.
