So, who's been to see it, yet?

i went to see it yesterday in 3D, and i thought it was incredible. absolutely astounding. Visually, it is spectacular, but i thought the story got off to a slow start. Once it got going, however, i was fully drawn in to the Na'vi way of life, and their attempt to protect their beautiful homeland from those Greedy, insensitive humans.

I think James Cameron made a good choice putting this movie off for 12 years to let technology catch up with his vision for the movie, and it certainly shows. the incredible detail of the plants, wildlife and, of course the Na'vi is some of the best CG i have ever seen.

He is known for spending vast amounts of money to make a movie the best it could be, and, in my opinion, he's done it again!abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Went to see it on IMAX thursday night, definitely worth every penny. Probably going to go see it again on a regular screen in 3D just to see what that's like. The IMAX conversion looked fantastic though, highly recommended.

No, that's the name of their race. But yeah, that's what I said when first of the Na'vi.

Anyways back to the topic. I'm going to see it hopefully before the end of the month. I can't wait to see those "AMP" Suits in action.

My mini review:

A visually brilliant film, and even has a pretty good storyline (even if a bit derivative is some aspects); with great emotion and spiritual depth that may be some might not fully "get".
However people that have with a good sense of spirituality and respect for nature will definately get where this movie is coming from.

It very subtly weaves in an under context that relates to recent and past history.

Then I might not like it. Every Tuesday I go out of my way to slaughter small fury animals till I'm knee deep in their entrails.

I'm kidding. I would never do such a thing....... on Tuesday.

Actually, I've had some friends that went and saw the movie and they said it was really freaking awesome. I might go see it after Christmas.

I looked forward to this for the past year. But I was motionsick through most of this film, and for hours thereafter, it wasn't only me. The graphics were great and had some interesting ideas, half of the plot had a derivative Alien theme. I just couldn't handle the jerky in-your-face cam. Hope Legacy doesn't film like this or it's 2-D for me...abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I haven't seen this yet, so no comment on the motion-sick camera action.

One question, did you watch it in Imax, Real-D, or something else?

OK, I just asked because Real-D 3D projectors correct that problem, you may want to look at that option, the Imax theater here has a seperate room with Real-D.

Saw it in IMAX 3D, didn't think Digital 3D would do it justice.

And again I give my nods to it. Very nice, it's a move that is hard to forget. It' worth seeing.

I finnally got the chance to see it. It's my new favorite film. You know that giddy jumping up and down thing that most kids get when they watch a movie and the good guys are winning? First time i've had that in YEARS.

I went to the IMAX version. I noticed if you tilt your head the 3d blurs the screen a little too. Aside from that, it was spectacular.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

That's because the light is polarized horizontal and vertical, two separate projections on the screen. If you tilt your head, you'll get a little of both in each eye, mixing things up from two perspectives.

It's weird looking at people wearing the glasses (outside) with my polarized sunglasses, one of their eyes is dark, the other clear.

I got to see it today in 3D. I was actually kinda disappointed. The visual were by far the best thing going for it, but the story was too lacking. I really didn't like that imbalance. There were many parts of the movie where myself and (other other members of the audience) said "WTF" and chuckled at the absurdity of the scene...Michelle Rodriguez's appearance in the climatic battle was one of those scenes that comes to mind.

I also didn't like the fact how long the movie was and how that the AMP Suits (aka the mechas) really weren't shown in action until the end of the movie. The best bit of the movie is the final fight with Jake and Quaritch, I thought.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

For some reason, the movie just never really latched onto me. I've just kinda seen Avatar as another one of those "motion picture event of the year/month/decade/week/day" things. Possible reasons:

-James Cameron's "Oh hi there E3! I'm James Cameron and I'm going to tell you, in epic detail, about Avatar for the next two hours" speech at Ubisoft's E3 press conference.

-The fact that almost all marketing has gone into promoting that it's in 3D, which, in my opinion, is a gimmick that is ruining many movies today (i.e. Up*).

-All the footage I've seen of it in trailers looks like just about every other computer animated movie I've seen footage of.

-The last time I saw a movie in IMAX 3D, it looked blurry through my glasses and made me never want to see another 3D movie ever again.

*On 3D being a gimmick that ruined "Up":

I think Up was a great movie. Very emotional and well done, and the closest a computer animated movie has ever gotten me to crying. But many scenes, nearly too many to count, were obviously forced into the movie as cheap 3D effects. What do I mean by this? Those parts where one object suddenly pops up really close to the "camera" from the background. As someone who doesn't see movies in 3D, I find these scenes to take away from the enjoyability of the movie. They focus way too much attention on a major character in the scene and takes away from the mood of the situation.

This was written to avoid flamewars originating from people misreading my post as "TRON.dll hates Up".

I must admit that I have'nt seen the entire movie. But from the little bits, snippets and pieces I've seen, It's god-awful. It's supposed to be James Cameron's big dream as these hyped up Teenage punks called it. Well, he certainly has no creative skills... 'cause his "dream" was incredibly dry and dull.

I mean, look at Jurassic Park! It was a very good balace of visual effects, science fiction and an actually good story! Why can't James Cameron do tha... oh wait.... I forgot, he's approximatly 7,592, 742 to the power of 1-against Years old! During the premiere, it looked like he was going to die of a Heart Attack because of all the cameras! Makes me wonder how he survived filming that incredible 3D seizure-fiesta he made...

Alot of the things (mainly the ship's they flew) screamed "HALO RIP-OFF" to me. I remember seeing a commercial where two Teen punks are in a movie theater. They see that scene with the floating Islands and one of them says "Woa... Since when do Islands float??" Uhh... ever heard of Sonic The Hedgehog? Back in '93, I believe.... in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, Angel Island is infamous for FLOATING. FLOA-TING.

Those bird thingies them blue Leopard People (Navi... I think? Hehhe... ZELDA RIP-OFF) looked like Pteronidons or those freaky flying alien creatures you find on Xen in most of the older Half-Life games.

I am now deeming James Cameron as "The King of Unoriginality"

P.S. A personal message from Me & My family to Mr. Cameron: FREAKIN' RETIRE, BLOCKHEAD!

In all seriousness, I somehow doubt that he was specifically thinking of Ninhilath and Angel Island when he was concieving the idea of this movie.

To me, it just seems like another 3D movie with some crude "jump out of the screen at you" scenes thrown in, which I'm really starting to get tired of.

No no, not the Nihilanth. A Boid. One of these:
http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Boid
And I believe he did see the Boid and Angel Island and declared "OH EHM GEE!!! I CULD UZE IT 4 ME MOOVIEZ UND CLAIAM IT AZ MAI ORIGINANLY IDIEA!" thinking he could get away with it due to the fact that he's so filled with Money that he's about to explode like a Boomer and spew out Pennies and Dollars to everyone.

I finally saw it a while back. I thought it was ok. The effects were awesome... but the story was a little too hippie-ish for my tastes... Nevertheless, i do plan on buying this when it's released on DVD.
