Ok... here is the problem:
My screen flashes black in most cases when a flash program is playing or when a java script is running. Sometimes it flashes multiple times.
I've updated my video drivers --- didn't help.
I then installed older drivers --- didn't help.
I reinstalled flash --- didn't help.
I reinstalled Jave --- didn't help.
I tried a different monitor --- didn't help.
I hope this isn't a hardware problem.
This is my 2003 system that I built (never had any problems with it before).
AMD Althlon XP 2800+ (single core)
Nvidia Geforce 5950 Ultra FX AGP
1 Gig of ram
Windows XP
I'm also running Ubuntu on the same system and for some odd reason it won't even attempt to run flash.
I'm able to play games like Unreal Tournament 2004 with no problems with all settings set to HIGH!!! So the problem only occurs when flash or java script is ran.
Any suggestions?
Thanks...

Here's an option to check to see if it's not a hijacking: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php

Ahh.. good suggestion but I'm ahead of you. I've been switching between Firefox, IE, and Opera with the same results.
It also happens when I use FLV player when I play flash games (I sometimes download them).

I've used: Smitfraudfix, Vondufix, and ran scans with Avria all in safe mode. I've also used Malewarebytes. Everything is clean.
I also use CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) to clear out old reg files and all my crap files on my PC. I use all this software religiously.
Even for giggles, I've did the PCpitstop tests and it didn't even find anything. It could be that either Flash or Javascript is causing issues with my GPU or (worse case) my GPU may be damaged in such a small level that it freaks out when making certain calculations demanded by those two.
I do plan on replacing the GFX card and retiring it as a MAME machine sometime next year when I build me a new PC but it's my primary computer at the moment.

Have you tried using System Restore to restore your PC to a working state; i.e. one it was in before you began experiencing this issue?
That's usually one of the first things I try when I have to fix an intractable problem.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

I was originally going to suggest it might be the video cable going from your computer to the monitor, but you said it only happens when doing specific tasks. So that can't be it.
You've already tried pretty much everything possible already. So there's really not much left to suggest. It sounds like this issue is going to be very elusive. If even System Restore doesn't work, then your last resort might be formatting and reinstalling Windows.
It could also be that the video card is simply on its way out, about to shuffle off this mortal coil.

PS: Sorry to hear the troubles. I noticed Sun Microsystems Java just updated the Java on my PC a few days or week ago. Maybe it has something to do with the new Java version? Have you tried finding and installing an old Java version? edit: my previous post was deleted for explaining what the difference is in SmitFraudFix, used to delete "SmitFraudFix Tool" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SmitFraud
Traahn - I will say this, I'm just a little suspicious of it since running registryfix. I looked at the 30 missing or invalid registry entries that it found, I don't know how many errors were there before I ran this program, but I'm going to see what happens when I re-run it. The first thing that made me question it was: it reset the time to military, and reset the desktop to blank.
Other than that, nothing else not exactly suspicious, but I'll let you know exactly what I find. It's not coming up as spyware/malware.

Quit deleting my posts guys. I'm not spamming or flaming anyone on here.
Whether or not it's legit was the discussion. If there's a problem, address it.
If you can't message me about a problem you have, I'll keep posting. People report that they had problems with it elsewhere, so I'm giving due diligence by finding out if there's cause to be concerned.

Ok, I tested this application - SmitFraudFix. after running all the tests, updating, and whatnot. Absolutely nothing changed in my registry, it only changed the time in windows to military time, and took the desktop image down, I'm assuming theres a reason, but they need to fix that issue. It's easy enough to fix: control panel/regional and language settings/regional options/customize/time/hh.mm.ss.tt.
Nothing unusual. used PCtools Registry Mechanic and spyware doctor. No popups whatsoever from it.
That's a better explination than what I said in my previous post that was deleted, if there was a misunderstanding, that wasn't my intention.

Qixx, I had responded in a previous post that perhaps something like a firewall, or a/v software could cause programs not to run right, so maybe there's a connection..
let us know if you get anywhere with java and flash not working properly.

Yes, I agree. It's very unlikely.
My line of reasoning was that maybe a part of the card's 2D rendering logic has somehow gone on the fritz. Qix said it happened when he used Flash, for example. Maybe a certain part of the card was being exercised that normally wasn't, when just using the desktop. (That still doesn't explain why it happens when Javascript executes, mind you . . .)
I'd also considered that maybe it has something to do with nVidia's drivers. That perhaps they introduced a bug that causes problems with Qix's card, which is now an older model. Both ATI and nVidia tend to provide crappier and crappier support for their older cards, with each new driver release.
But Qix said he'd already tried changing drivers, so . . . I guess that's not it, either.
It also can't be defective memory on the motherboard, because otherwise it would happen all the time and not just in specific cases.
It's definitely a puzzler.

Thanks for your help everyone..
I was going to say that there is an issue with shared memory but it's a 256mbs video card.
It's getting worse, so I think I'll just have to get a new card. I've been wanting to build me a new computer for a long time now but I've been holding off and money it tight these days.
Here is something odd. If I enlarge a youtube video for full screen then I don't have a problem.
I can't really complain though. I built my computer six years ago and it's held up really good till now. I still want to retire it as a MAME machine but if the problem I'm having is beyond just the GFX card then that would suck.
What could have happened is that a static discharge occurred a long time ago and it's just catching up with me. Remember to always ground yourself.
Actually, I take that back. I believe it's gremlins in my computer.. lol..

It is possible that the card is on its way out, Java and flash scrips may be using certain memory instructions that could cause the card to fail or show simptoms. I had a graphics card that was on its way out that was fine with everything except watching movies, thought it was just the dvd drive until the card failed completely. Graphics cards are funny things, mostly todays cards are mini pcs with their own ram and cpus. It is hard to narrow down an issue with them, I'd borrow another card to see if the problem resolves itself (assuming the card can be removed).order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
