None of my Source engine games work

Does anyone know what's going on here? All of a sudden, none of my games that run on the Source engine work anymore. I try to start one of them up, and I get a dialogue box saying this:

SteamStartup() failed: SteamStartup(0xf,0x0017E074 failed with error 1: failed to take master pipe connection lock

It only happens with Source engine games, all other games run fine. What's going on?

EDIT: Also happens with goldsrc games with this error:

SteamStartup(0xf,0x0017E074 failed with error 1: failed to take master pipe connection lock

So, basically, about 50% of Steam games I own are now completely unplayable. Yey

EDIT: Nevermind, restarted Steam and all is good.

Yeah, once in a blue moon I get this error. It's something to do with...something not refreshing...or something. Quick reboot should fix it.

Sounds about right it sounds like the system needs a good reboot somewhere. Could be a memory leak somewhere. It happens deom time to time with workstations and servers.
