Try looking some of them up. I thought I had never heard Turn the Page, but then I looked it up on Youtube and found out that I've actually heard it lots of times.

Cool! I'm very glad that they have "The Thing that should Not Be" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls" on the list.

What's sad is my little brother will be playing "Sad but True" all the time. It's a good song, but I find it to be a little funny. However, he loves it.

I just wish they had "Call of Ktulu" on the list...

Very interesting. Metallifacts sounds like something I'd run when I'm bored and don't feel like listening to musics through headphones.

I remember someone from the band (I think Lars) saying that every band that they wanted a song from got put into the game, except for Iron Maiden. I would imagine that Iron Maiden couldn't be in there because of licensing issues, or an issue with the way they recorded most of their master recordings (that being drums and vocals on the same track, with Guitar and Bass on their own separate tracks).

Again, it's probably an issue with the way they recorded their masters. I've read that the Lead and Bass guitars on their masters usually have their own tracks, but they have the drum track and vocal track on the same track. If a Maiden master was in the game (and Guitar Hero is now strictly masters), the vocals would be cut off along with the drums whenever you missed a note.

This could be solved with a heck of a lotta audio editing, but that would probably go over the game's development budget.

In an official press release, Lars said that pretty much every band they wanted in the game got in there, except for Iron Maiden for reasons they didn't know.

Sometimes, with Rock Band and Guitar Hero, the original band will re-record their song(s) if the masters are unavailable. Examples include Aerosmith in Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Rush in Rock Band's DLC song "Working Man". Unfortunately, it's likely that the band won't want to re-record or can't in many cases, which is probably why we won't see any Maiden songs in GH or RB for some time.

I just got the game, nearly broke my hand playing "Master of Puppets". Some really good solos in a lot of songs. "Turn the Page" is somewhat difficult, but it's pretty fun when you get used to the main riff.

One small note of interest, though:

Tushing Airfield is a venue in the game. It's in Soviet Russia, so there's some military transport trucks and helis flying around with red stars on them. The stage has a Soviet Union flag on the left side and an American flag on the right side.

While playing "No Excuses", I noticed in the background video that whenever you could see the American flag, the flamethrower in front of it was shooting flames into the air, making it look like the American flag was on fire. But did I ever see the Soviet Union flag on fire? Nope.

I have concluded that Activision is communist. Commence Soviet Russia jokes about Activision nao.

This country did just nearly crash every world market, and these people who don't need the USA are now loosing billions an hour. Thanks for the bubblization efforts there guys.. (I'm sure someone else has already thought of that word..)
