Commodore 64 owners!

on Wednesday, December, 10, 2008 4:23 PM
Calling all Commodore 64 owners!

I'm in desperate need of two items which I can't find anywhere: C64 game paddles, and a C64 mouse (preferably 1351).

If you have either of these and are willing to sell/give them away, please contact me!

NoExcuse couldn't you make your own paddles for the C64 with the pinouts? I am not too sure you can do the same thing with a regular mouse and convert it down to a 9 pin or what ever pinout you need for the C64...

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I have vintage Atari 2600 game paddles... but I can't part them them for obvious reasons.

Never had a C64 mouse. I'm guessing you tried ebay for both?

I have a C64 too... unfortunately, it's infested with Weed

Seriously - it is no longer functional. Wish I knew how to fix it. The computer itself was non functional when I fired it up last two years ago. The disc drive actually bit the dust while shooting the intro to Weed Killer 2 - it kept spinning for no reason after a while and would not stop until powered down (and then start up again when powered up).

Good luck with your C64 treasure hunt.

Of course, post pics if/when you get 'em.

Good idea! It would be awesome to have some original Commodore paddles, but if I can find out how to make some DIY ones that would be cool too. I could do a custom paint job and make them look like Tron paddles!

Sorry to hear about your Commodore! You'd better get Weed out of there before he causes any more damage!

I've found someone selling some 1351 mice for $40 to the UK with shipping, but it seems a bit much - that's more than I paid for the C64 itself, with games, datasette and manuals!

I got my paddles from an atari place-- they'll work just fine.

Nikster showed it to me once. :3

Yep...Atari 2600 controls will work with C64 stuff, they're identical, except for the colors.

Also, Sega Genesis (and I *think* Sega Master System) control pads will work too...except for you'll only be able to use one of the buttons. So if you're used to the more modern game controllers, that should work for you.

That's cool noexcuse. like I said it was an idea and tid bits of things to think of here. sometimes too many. I'm in a midst of either buying a computer case over here. Since this past Saturday I was at a nearby distributor and had bought a motherboard & CPU combo for about $70 Canadian. And they guy threw in the CPU as well for free. Now I am debating of either making a mod case for it or 2 buying a ready made case which is about $20 and probably a power supply as well for it to. And I have finally got my Dell Precision 530 as well with dual Xeon 1.5 GHZ processors in it. Its a huge tower case as well.

I'm debating of trying to make something that looks tronish for the mother. since its a PCChip REAL3+ with an Sempron 64 3000 cpu. I still have 2 128 megs ddr around here. But I might get 2 X 1 gig kingston 400 instead to bring it up to the maximum and maybe put in a seperate video card since the ones that are built in take a chunk of memory away from the main system. Here is the link for the specs for the motherboard.
http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?DetailID=405&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=48&LanID=0

Again I'm going to try and design the casing that will look tronish but I am going to figure out on the design itself and see how or what it will be looking like. And eventually put in 2 ATA and Sata drives in it and make it Raid 1 as well for the Sata drives. So a total of 2IDE and 2 SATA drives. if I could I would have had 4 IDE and 2 Sata just on hard drives alone. I do have an external DVD player that can hook up on a USB port.

Dang, sorry to hear that.

You may want to try opening it up to see if there's any loose connections, but take that advice with a pinch of salt, especially if you're not hardware-savvy. That's not to say you should literally put a pinch of salt in the mouse, but you know what I mean.

I actually had a similar problem with a Dreamcast lightgun a while back, the thing worked, but the triggers didn't work. Opened it up, and the thing was covered with dried out and very sticky cola which was keeping the trigger sensors from detecting the triggers. Cleaned it off, and it worked like new.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
