I've been following Iron Sky since its conception as well, and it looks to be great
Also, you're right; it's not steampunk. It is yet another -punk genre of science fiction known as "dieselpunk," which generally takes place anywhere from the late 20's to the end of the 40's. Still cool though

Clockpunk, actually. Basically the same as steampunk, but everything is driven by clockwork (obviously). These two go hand-in-hand, and are usually blended together.
As for DaVinci...Renaissancepunk, anyone?

Hairs are being sliced thin on the whole 'punk' subdivisions. Clock Steam and Diesel punks tend to bleed into eachother fairly readily. Hell. The whole damned thing started with cyberpunk.

Anyway. Huuuuuuuge resource for all things steampunk.

Funny that two highly influential cyberpunk movies came out the same year (bladerunner and Tron respectively.) Sure everyone knows bladerunner basically gave us the whole corporate owned world that's falling apart, but everyone here realizes that tron gave us the whole 'jacking in' thing. Actually I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it definitely was an early adopter of the notion on screen.

Anyone know when neuromancer came out as compared to when the first script for tron was done?

As epic as Tron Legacy will be. Bladerunner has my vote for best cyberpunk.

The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello

This was an animations that turned up a few months back on youtube, and is firmly in the Steampunk category. It is also a stunning animation done mostly with silhouettes

As stated earlier in this thread, I think it would be cool to see Steampunk versions of Tron vehicles and locations.

I think you missed a point.
Bladerunner is not cyberpunk. The main differense between SciFi-punk and ScienceFiction is that ScienceFiction explores the technology of the future while -punk explores the technology of the past. They take a civilizationbulding technology (bookprinting-punk wont work ) and explores it so far into the extreme that it takes a step into the fantasy realm.
Bladerunner explores genetic enginering and androids. Tech of the future.

And BTW. while thinking these thoughts, I worked my way back on civbuilding techs:
-Cyber (information technology)
-Nuke, -Diesel, -Steam .....-Clockwork.?

-Sailing (I remember reading a "sailing-punk" graphic novel once, about a civilization living on a floating city build of Spanish-Armada-Style ships linked together and piled)

-Iron (would be cool)
-Bronze -Stone.
Thats when I realised that, like it or not, Flintstones are a prime example of "stone-punk"

Thanks for pointing out the Boilerplate movie!
And I'm afraid I haven't heard of Googiepunk or Atomicpunk.

Steampunk Disney pins? Sounds moderately interesting.

Halfway off topic: Funny enough the first mention of Tron Legacy (at the time TR2N) on Disney's website was in an interview with an employee who supposedly had the largest pin collection ever.

Bit of a plug since I wrote for issues 4 - 7.

Actually the whole "corporate dystopia" theme has had roots in earlier scifi novels and movies. The relationship of the space explorers in Alien and the corporation they worked for Weyland Yutani for example. Neuromancer came out in 84 so its possible Gibson was working on it in the early eighties. His short Johnny Mnemonic came out in 81. Interfacing with machines has been explored throughout scifi history wether it be an episode of the Outer Limits or novels such as Terminal Man.
