LOL @ AVI's comment.

The costume looks like part of a MOCAP set up. Which is obvious that they'll need to be using it for certain things. I'd comment more, but I'm really busy.

I'm cold and calculating. Don't press my buttons.

Oh, wow, sorry about that guys, had I known about the malware I wouldn't have thrown it up there like that (I'm running a Linux machine so I don't get much of that :P )

Yeah, definitely curious as to where they're going with that sort of costume. Perhaps some digital enhancement? Or maybe they're going for a more minimalist look, haha.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

My system scan indicated no malware, and I'm not seeing anything locking up or crashing in an un-normal manner.

Because stuff crashes all the time on Vista, lol.

It's definitely on the site. But you wouldn't likely encounter it unless it activates on your system. I instinctively attempted to close the pop-up. Things went crazy immediately.

And no worries Techfalcon. Not your fault at all. This form of malicious script is becoming more and more common,

For the record, the virus in this instance was a variation of the Vundo virus.

I guess I didn't get the virus.

@TechFalcon:

Well spotted! In my hurry to post the set picture, I didn't scrutinize it that closely. I didn't notice the full size Encom logo because on first glance it just looks like that light source reflecting off the wall. Good to know the full size logo still appears.

I don't mind the shortened "E" logo, so much. It's still basically the same logo with the last four letters removed. It's a nice shorthand version of the logo.

It's when they start messing with the TRON logo like they have, that I start to get disappointed. Would anyone ever think of tampering with the Terminator or Star Wars logos? I think not. You can argue that TRON isn't as big as those franchises, but the original TRON logo is a classic and instantly recognizable. There's no good reason to change it.

@TRON.dll:

I see Mr. Sinistar took care of the latest news and posted it on the front page. He did a great job on the article.

Some of the admins have been talking about writing up a front page article that summarizes all the news so far, into a nice and short post that's easy to read. We'll be working on that soon, I think.

@RenegadeProgram:

I'm not bothered as much by some of those things that you mentioned, but I still understand and share your concern. So far, they seem to be doing things MOSTLY right. (Well, as far as this fan is concerned, anyway.) But there are a few things that concern me a little. I agree with that adage you mentioned: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

@lurkinghorror:

I'm lucky that I haven't encountered any malware, but dismayed to hear about what happened. If I come across more news on that site, I'll provide the link but I'll just copy and paste the article here so no one has to visit it any more if they don't want to. I'll also include a warning.

Awesome news and some nice pics.

I speculate that the actor in the spandex suit is going to be digitally augmented with CGI effects (like the glowing circuitry patterns and such). It's added bits seem to indicate it isn't for mo-cap.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too. You can't see any of those reflective dots on the suit, so that's probably not Mo-cap as I first thought. Hang on I just realized
Why would they be wearing costumes? I though that faces were going to be superimposed onto CGI bodies?

I think they changed their minds on that. We've had reports of costumes with lighting embedded in them. And I'm guessing the face replacement thing is probably just for Jeff Bridges, and maybe Bruce Boxleitner.

I'm glad they did change their minds. Live Action and CGI is better than just CGI.

I'm pretty sure what we're seeing in the photo is just the underneath part of the costume. The guy stripped off the padding and other things to be more comfortable and keep cool on his break. The full costume probably looks more like the original program costumes did.

I hope so, because honestly I was a bit disappointed when I saw that costume photo.

I hope they still have the black and white faces. That was about the coolest part about TRON 2.0 (that they intentionally brought that back).

The black and white faces are pretty iconic when it comes to the computer realm, I'm sure it'll stay in there. It'd just look too odd without it.

One thing I can't help but draw comparison to, with all this talk of it having the biggest budget of any movie ever, is Fritz Lang's Metropolis. The goal of that originally was to be the biggest-budgeted film ever made, wasn't it? What kind of implications could that have?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I see what you mean by that.
TR2N has 300M budget, right? Surely there must be some movie with a larger budget.

True, very true. However, I've got lots of faith in Kosinski. Even though this is his first feature, his portfolio is definitely impressive, and plenty of other excellent directors have come from commercial background (David Fincher and Ridley Scott are prime examples). I'm not so sure about Hedlund, but everyone else in the cast seems excellent. I still think Daft Punk was an excellent choice for the soundtrack, too, so I've got faith in the project.

And KiaPurity, was it confirmed that the budget was 300 in Canadian? Even so, that's a hell of a lot of money, haha.
