I hope they add in some glowing edges in the final production. Not that this new pic of Flynn doesn't look cool, I'm just a fan of the "vector glow" art design.

**Edits**
The actual suits are actually pretty detailed.
That one overly dark production photo with the characters standing in an akward angle (that I think is missing VFX polish) does not do the suits justice IMO.
Look at the large hi-res, images of Sam on his LC, or the LC with the yellow glowing tracelines, if you look closely you will see that the suits do have a lot more detail than the heavly shadowed pic of Sam and Qora.
Yeah, I would like it if the VFX artists would fill in some of the new suits' groves, and embossed accents with glowing trace lines, and for the VFX artists to incorperate little bit of the circuitry prints.
I have directly e-mailed the VFX supervisor at Digital Domain and e-mailed public relations for Mr. Kosinski, and I politely asked that a message be fowarded to Joseph Kosinski. I thought there would be no harm id voicing my views to them in a polite manner. It would of been nice if others maybe could be pro-active as well, instead of just reactive.
I love the Jean Giraud and Syd Mead's designs in the original TRON, and a LOVE the look of the digital warrior suits in the original TRON;
and the circuitry prints, and the design style behind them have been major influence on my own artwork.
I do also like the new suits (hopefully with some touch-ups), and can't wait to see them with a bit of VFX polish in the finished movie.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Ain't It Cool News has some cool new tidbits today.
...apparently (Disney) the top brass is so psyched about Tron: Legacy that they'e planning a TV show for 2011 & 2012 (probably for Disney ). No news on whether it will be animated or live action. They're also already planning another Tron film for 2013.
Of course, if Legacy bombs at the BO, this will all get cancelled ASAP. But, right now, they're really behind it. |
Expect the new Tron Legacy trailer at the beginning of the ALICE movie (in both 3D and IMAX) on March 5th in theaters. It will run almost 2 1/2 mins |

Yep, it was in jest! But I've taken it down and made a note above.
It's kind've funny (sad) how everyone is on edge and politically correct these days, ready to jump at the slightest thing. I wish the world could lighten up a little and see jokes for what they are.
You know, everyone spoofs and makes fun of the original Tron movie and those who like it -- *all the time!* :P I don't know that I've noticed you jumping to the defense of the original film as strongly as TL, but maybe I just haven't noticed. I wonder what the difference is... abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I like parody depending on how it's executed, like "Tron Reboot" parody on Youtube I think is hilarious.
I love the original Tron movie, but I'm not such a hardline purist that thinks the sequel has to look perfectly taylored to the exact visual look of the original.
( It's IMO uneccessary movie remakes that really bother me, like the A-Team movie, or the "300" wanna-be Clash of the Titans remake. )
I do hope that with some VFX touch-up and polish, that once we all see Tron Legacy in th theatre, that everything will mesh well, look brilliant, and that the film has a good, solid
action-adventure storyline.
I hope Aint It Cool News's speculation turns out true and a new trailer is shown with screenings of TB's Alice in Wonderland. But I highly doubt it will be shown.

I'm doubtful they'll show a new official trailer with TB's AiWL,
since there's still about 10 month until the release of the movie.
But it's certainaly possible if Joe has enough segments with finsihed VFX, that maybe a trailer is soon in being shown.
I'm more expecting an epic, extended trailer to be shown at the Tron Legacy Panel-Presentation at

That's craftsmanship. +1 respect for the costume designers. hey, you never know what glowing accents they'll apply via VFX.
Maybe holographic grid and circuit prints will immanate from characters clothes or body suits at certain times, or when a character has no sleaves maybe they'll have glowing circuits directly on their skin like tattoos?
Who knows.
Hopefully some key people working on VFX will think of the same things and apply those ideas to the movie.

I can't see it. Help me out here.
@bigbangbille.exe_
There's probably something in his old code that might be of importance. I'm not quite sure myself, just glad that Tron is actually in the movie.
Now, all we need is at least a Yori/Lora cameo. I'm cold and calculating. Don't press my buttons.

I'm not sure if this is legit or not, but I found this interview with an actor/extra who was on the set of TL when searching Twitter for Tron.
An interesting read IF it's true:
http://www.stokedorchoked.com/index.php?site=news&id=93
Here's just an excerpt. The complete interview is at the link:
STEVE: No worries, maybe after the trailer comes out with Alice in Wonderland you'll be open to do that....did you get to do any stunt work or are you too insured/smart?
TIM: Neither, just not allowed to play with the big kids. I did get one shot where I'm running like a coward and just dodge a shock trooper being flipped over a railing.
As far as being satisfying to us classico officianados, here's a nice story:
The bartender in our scene looked really familiar to me. He was none other than Steven Lisberger, the original creator/director.
So in between takes I came over and sez "Greetings, program." His face lit up because so few of the extras even knew what TRON was. We had a cool chat about TRON, photo-lithography (more interesting to him) and things of the 70's and 80's in general.
He has been on since the start supervising the concepts/redesigns and visuals to everything. I asked him if he felt it was keeping true to the original and he said is was even better.
He gestured to the set and some of the costumes and said how this was how he always imagined it looking from the start but the technology and money just wasn't there.
Then Jeff --the fuckin' Big Lebowski-- came over when he heard us talking about the old days. Mostly he and Steven were talking but I had to be able to say I spoke to him so when they were talking about his outfit I asked if he found it any harder to act natural wearing something that might give him a shock from time to time.
He said it's worth it because everything was difficult in the first TRON since they didn't really understand what was going on and it was hard to take seriously. |

Thanks for the link, Randy.
From all of the stuff he said in the interview, syncs with other rumors and tidbits I've come across so far. I have reason to believe this dude's telling the truth.

yeah like the instincs built into a process in which computers bring things to our attn. - visual character, somehow consciously instinctive.. Gives the impression that it's not just easy entertainment, however, the nature of things these days is more generic, and I'm not sure If I should even expect to see the real deal like I'd do it, sadly enough...
Seems like it would take a while to tell the story, meanwhile I think Avatar was scratching the surface on the complex coolness of that art.
