Seems like this turns into a "what concerns you about TRONlc" thread.

Heres mine:
I am concerned obout the whole Isolated Server plot.
No way that can run 25+ years continously. It cant evolve without hardware uppgrades. NewYork would never be a metropolis without new houses beeing buildt.

I have this bad feeling that the isolation plot is implemented to avoid the internet. That would be sad. I loved the HUB-city from TRON2.0.
But maybe we will se a hub city at the end of the film, if the bad guy tries to break out of the isolation and conquer the hyperspace.

I know Im negative. To me the whole Isolation/evolve thing is one gigantic plothole. But as a fan I will hold my hopes high and wait and see.

I have no idea if this is real or not but apparently some the unfinished (at least they sound unfinished) tracks from the Tron Legacy soundtrack is surfacing on the internet. One of the demos I found is called "Fragile" and it sounds a lot like Daft Punk, but like I said, I can't confirm if it's Daft Punk or if it's from "TrLeg" (I like that abbreviation ).

IMO, I think that "The Distance" track is a fake. It doesn't sound very polished at all (or good, for that matter).

After listening to some of the original Wendy Carlos score, I realized that DP are going to have trouble remixing most of Tron's soundtrack because the music is in 7/4 time, compared to the usual 4/4 time that Daft Punk works with. The only song I can think they can use without too much modifcation is the second half of the "Tron Scherzo" as it's sounds like it's in 3/4 time mostly.

Wow, now that you mention it, I went back and listened to each, one after the other, and I think you're probably right. It definitely has similarities but, like you said, has been extensively reworked. I really like the "Lightcycle Reveal" theme, as I call it. Nice analysis, TronFAQ. I wouldn't have thought to compare the two until you pointed out the possible connection.

The other allegedly "leaked" tracks, "Fragile" and "Distance" both sound like fakes to me. Really bad ones. The way I see it, even a "rough, unfinished cut" from Daft Punk would have more depth, and cleaner, more precise tones and patterns. Plus, as someone else pointed out, there's virtually no buildup in the melody that Daft Punk is apparently known for. To me, those two tracks just sound....amateurish, like they were made with a kids handheld keyboard, or something.

I could be wrong, as a great deal of movie soundtrack music has different structures than a typical "song on the radio". And I doubt that TRON Legacy is going to be a "typical" movie, but I just feel like those two tracks don't SOUND like Daft Punk, and they don't SOUND like TRON Legacy, ya know? We'll just have to wait until the actual soundtrack comes out, I guess. I'm really interested to see what Daft Punk comes up with. If the "Lightcycle Reveal" track is any indication, I'm already impressed and I'm not worried...It's going to be great!

I've been getting into Daft Punk a lot lately. I love their Discovery album. I can't wait to hear the tracks they make for the movie. I do hope they use some of Wendy's music as samples because some of her music defines Tron... or at least a remake of some of her stuff would be great.
