Happy Independence Day, programs!

And to the non-Americans, happy 4th of July! After all, it is the 4th of July for us all, regardless of nationality.

I wanted to chime in on this year's 4th of July thread before it was tomorrow... was surprised to find there was none yet started. Guess everyone celebrating was probably out at the part or at family's houses and away from their computers and smart-phones.

The wife and I spent the day together, mostly around our own house and yard. We cooked up some hotdogs on the grille in the back yard, and enjoyed the great weather.

Just a short while ago, the neighborhood firework display launched its grand finally (sp?) We didn't know there was going to be neighborhood fireworks. It was a nice surprise. We had a great view on our own front porch!

We went to a friend's house. He lives on a lake. Someone from another party drowned on the lake (bit of a party stopper) but besides that, everything was fun. I found out that I am surprisingly good at "My Name is Jonas" by Weezer on Guitar Hero 3. On easy. No "Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert for me!

I was shooting off fireworks all day yesterday. We only had two incidents:

1) Some Einstein who was with us thought it'd be a good idea to launch a Saturn Missile battery upside-down. It launched a missile, flipped over sideways, and started shooting missiles at some car driving by in the street.

2) We launched an Artillery Shell (those are fun), but it was defective. Normally, they're supposed to fire upwards and explode while in the air. This one did that except for the up part.

No injuries, though.

Those tanks are fun. We were putting firecrackers in the used ones and putting some of the used tanks on top of the artilery shell tubes.

Oh, and the tube that the defective shell was in exploded, lol.

Also, we saw some UFO's. Well, they actually looked like plastic bags with candles in 'em, but as far as I care, they were flying saucers from Mars intent on invading our planet and killing us all. If it turns out anything like the Sega Saturn version of the game, then we'd be in trouble. I know DamageInc has fond memories of that game... He's told me that it sucks about 7 times, that there's lag with the controls about 5 times, and that the game looks like crap one time. Yeah, I counted. That was an awesome movie though.
