I know what you mean. I was the same way. I'd build a system and either do an upgrade or just build a new one every three years or so. I've stuck with this one since 2002 or 2003 and it's still doing great what I use it for but can't really play the next-gen games (lol.. I guess I should say 'this-gen games' :P)...

I'm not going to really retire this one though. I still have some productive uses for it. I'll most likely be using it as a classic arcade machine and a MP3 jukebox. I'll give it a cheap GPU upgrade since the fans in my Geforce FX is shot to hell. All in all, it'll still be kick'n.. Computers don't really become obsolete, they just find unique uses in the end.

I am going to try and build me three this time... One monster for my main computer, another lesser for work related stuff so that I have a ultra safe computer that is off the network, and an ITX machine for my TV so I can watch Hulu.com TV and Movies on my HD TV upstairs...
