Iron Man movie

on Friday, May, 02, 2008 10:38 PM
Just saw it today!

I've gotta say, this movie was AWESOME! And I also noticed that a lot of the CGI animation was done by Industrial Light and Magic, which I believe also worked on , right?

Anyways, it was an awesome movie. Some parts were a bit gruesome and detailed, but no exploding heads or the like.

Special effects were top-notch, although a trailer for "The Happening" kinda freaked me out before the movie.

Overall, I give it 8/10 Build Points.

PROS:
-Fantastic Special Effects
-Real F-22's
-Lots of explosions
-Good jokes

CONS:
-Ending seemed a bit rushed
-Some scenes not for the weak stomached
-The song "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath is in the movie (more specifically the beginning of the credits), but it's only the ending part, which is partially cut off.

So, the movie's not as good as Michale Bay's "Transformers" movie, but hey, that's pretty hard to beat. This movie is still pretty awesome, but I personally liked "Transformers" better.

What do you all think?

Iron Man was a fantasic movie, as a big fan of the comics I was really impressed with the attention to detail and how close to the comics it really was. I cant wait for the sequal which RDJ has already signed up to do.

You cant really compare Iron Man to Transformers Tron.dll but I can see where your comming from

Actually four companies (that are now out of business) made the CGI for Tron. The people that worked on the first CGI stuff for the Lucasfilm/Industrial Light and Magic people later form their own company: PIXAR...lol.

Anyways, I'm dying to see Iron Man. Gonna see it tomorrow, I think.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Triple I, MAGI, Robert Able and Assoc., and Digital Effects. I think one of the guys from MAGI co-founded the studio that made Ice Age and Robots. The two guys who were head of the CGI department of Triple-I later founded Digital Productions, which did The Last Starfighter and Richard Taylor from Robert Able and Assoc. has done like a billion things. He even directed the live-action scenes for the latest Command and Conquer game!

just saw it today and i have to disagree with you on all these points tron.dll. the film had a near perfect pace i gound, it didnt rush the superheroes development of his powers, which for ironman is long since he has none and makes them instead. the ending is too short when you compare it to mediocre superhero films like fantastic 4 where the climax lasted about 15 seconds. plus the films slightely short climax is justified by the fact that this guy does not gain powers overnight by a random event like a spider biting him, he was to make and perfect them

the weak stomached? which scene was that??

and iron man is THE rock song of black sabbath. 'tis a masterpieice of music. and i think it ties in with the movie some how too. cant remember how...

I never said the song was bad, I said I didn't like how they didn't play the full song. It was just the end.

It's still an awesome movie, though. Time to try the game!

I dunno about it being *the* best, but it ranks right up there with X2, IMO.

Like the X-men films, Iron Man is an example of comic movies done right...there is enough of the actual comic book story for the comic fans, but it's tweeked just enough so the casual movie goers aren't totally lost.

I really liked Iron Man Even my sister, who is not into comics at all (all she knows about the backstory she heard from me on the ride to the theater *lol*) liked it.

Well Iron Man was 100% comic material. They just mixed the old and new. For instance the method of keeping his heart beating (those who have seen it will know what I am talking about) is taken from the newer comics. Where as the whole becoming Iron Man is taken direct from the original comics just shifted from Nam and put in the middle east instead to its updated to the times.

I think X2 is good, but I think Spiderman II is better. I have been waiting a long time for Iron Man to appear, and from everything I see it's as good as I wanted it to be.

I have some hope for the new Hulk film too, but I still have the bad taste from Ang Lee's version to forget. I hope they didn't screw it up.

I am excited about Captain America and The Avengers in 2010, and what about Thor in 2011? Anyone wondering how they pull that character off on the big screen?

If it were up to me, I'd set Thor in 800 AD or so. About the time the era of vikings was coming to a close as the culture converted to Christianity.

Finally saw the movie today. I agree with LurkingHorror and KiaPurity, it is the best Marvel movie yet. Everything was great: acting, editing, music, FX, CGI, dialog. I can't same the same for the sound as the stupid theater sound system made the movie's audio sound like it was being played on a gutiar amp.

*SPOLIERS!!!!**

Did anyone notice a very subtle nod to Tron in the climax of the movie? Tony Stark was hanging onto a circular window frame and Jeff Bridges' character was firing at him. The camera angles and the way Tony Stark was hanging onto the platform reminded me of the Jai Alai scene from Tron with Crom and Flynn. :O

*END OF SPOILERS*

...what, you couldn't tell from that one youngish picture of him flashing by on the screen? (looked around 1980's era. Apparently, it was a still picture from another movie that they used?)
