Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I noticed an errie relationship between the MCP and the character "Andross" from the game "Star Fox" for Super NES. It was right after I watched TRON for the first time, and I felt like whippin out my SNES and beating Star Fox. When I reached the final boss, for some reason it just made me think of the MCP. Later I dusted off the 'ol N64 and played some Star Fox 64. Andross's voice on the final stage made me think of the MCP once again. Was I crazy, or does Nintendo remember TRON as well? I'm posting from my Palm right now, so I cant post any images for comparison. I'll log onto an actual computer later and post some pics.

Wait, when you say "new game", are you talking about Starfox 64 (released 1997), or are they making a new Starfox game?
And I dissagree with the visual for Andross, Starfox 64 was an awesome game. It was not linear in any form at all (meaning it had multiple paths through the game). It had tons of unlockables (sound test, mp vehicles, etc), and the gameplay was true to the original Starfox. I still think Andross looked better in the original, though. If you havn't tried Starfox 64, though, you should give it a whirl.

That's an enemy from the first Starfox game - It's called Atomic Core, and you have to fly around that thing destroying it's environment, and shooting into its rift...
No idea LOL

The atomic core was actually supposed to be like the Death Star II's reactor. Slippy is more annoying than a bit that is stuck on Yes...

As far as I know he was more or less written out of the game story since 'Starfox Adventures".

Greetings, June and welcome to TRON-Sector!
Ahh, the wonders of Star Fox for the SNES, featuring the SFX chip. What an amazing experience that was back in 1993. I spent many an hour playing that game over and over. I remember thinking that the 3D Andross face was TRONish back then, but can't remember if I compared it to the MCP or just the TRON feel in general. The reactor core in the image you posted does have a little MCPish shape to it, but that never crossed my mind at the time. Like TRON.dll said, I always thought it was more like the Death Star reactor in terms of similarities.

1) The reactor core of a large space ship you enter in the SNES Star Fox game. It's the boss of the Space Armada level.
2) It is implied that Fox's father died in the N64 Star Fox, but then ** SPOILER WARNING ** Fox's father appears to come to Fox's rescue at the very end of the game and help him find his way out of the final battle area before it explodes. It is unclear if Fox's father was alive and well, or if it was perhaps just his spirit that guided him out.
3) In the SNES Star Fox, Slippy Toad does indeed look and sound male. You can't understand a word he says (they al speak another language and you have to read subtitles), but he definitely sounded male. In the N64 version of Star Fox, some idiot thought it would be cool to make Slippy Toad in to a little boy and he was voiced by a woman (often young boy cartoon characters are). I loved N64 Star Fox back in the day, but I HATED Slippy's stupid high voice and characterization alteration.

1) Actually, the reactor core IS supposed to be similar to the Death Star II, Star Fox was supposed to be similar in many ways to Star Wars. Simple reference in the title: Star Fox : Star Wars
2) In the SNES game, it is suggested that James McCloud actually dissapeared inside of the Awesome Black Hole, but Star Fox 64's intro says that he was killed by Pigma Deltar. In Star Fox Assault, during the final battle, an allusion of Fox's father appears, telling Fox to give up. This is an ironic reference to Star Fox 64 when James' ghost says to Fox "Never give up". That scene in Star Fox 64 is, once again, a Star Wars reference, where Fox is Luke, the tunnel is the Death Star trench, and James' ghost is Obi Wan.
3) SF64 Slippy must be shot down. He's worse than Andross. To prove this, I'll use a quote:
*EXTREMELY high pitched*
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Still a bit annoying in Assault, been such a long time since Adventures, tho.

Core Brain, the structure in which you fight Andross, always vaguely reminded me of the outer "complex" of the MCP for some reason.
Also , I think you may think about TRON when playing Star Fox due to the simplicity of the graphics. The low polygon count forces a certain minimal aesthetic.
