You must have seen some Saturday morning cartoons that I missed.

The following three images are from issue 4:

Now this is a picture from a Saturday morning cartoon:

As is this:

Certainly everyone is entitled to their preferences. But lets' not give way to hyperbole here. The art is not reminiscent of a Saturday morning cartoon show, except when the story dictates that it should be. And that has nothing to do with either artist.

As for comparisons between the two art styles, I've included samples of Jet from issue 2 and issue 4. The two images represent very similar activities. Feel free to pick your favorite.

My opinion is that they are both very talented in very different ways. Knowing the actual content of the script, I feel quite safe in saying that the material is a better fit, in regards to transition from written word to graphic image, with the current art team.

That third pic definitely looked like something outta an 80's movie. Nicely executed procedure! Still gotta find some of these somewhere, hehe. Can I find it at my local library?

I wonder if he was referring to Reboot. (Now, that was a Saturday Morning cartoon in the 90's!)

The 90's had some really well drawn cartoons on Saturday morning...

But I thought he was referring that to the first artist or did I read that post wrong? @_@

Still, I'm glad to hear about the fifth issue getting published finally. Can't wait to order it. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I read it as a reference to the art in issues 3 and 4. As for ReBoot, I don't really see it. ReBoot had some decent design work (including some very Tron inspired design work) but was executed in a tremendously different art style.

Yeah, the 90's had some nice art in some of the cartoons. Much of it was designed or inspired by comics art. That was the case in the 70's as well. That Superfriends stuff is all designed by Alex Toth, one of the best comics artists of... well... ever.

By "they", you mean me. I (co)wrote the material in question. And this reinforces what I'm saying, you simply cannot compare the quality of the two artists by the content. The artists job is to translate the script. The script called for the cartoon influence. It specified the bunny.

If you don't like the subject matter, that's a criticism of the story. Which is fine. You're free to offer your criticisms, though they will have more weight when the story concludes. You're free not to like one of the artists. But it's not fair to either of them to hold them up against an erroneous standard.

So, assuming you are correct in your interpretation of the representation of both the rabbit and the cartoon universe, how would you have presented it?

Ok. First let me appoligize if I upset you. That was not my intention. No offense to the current artist but I do like the art better from the first two issues. As far as how I would have presented it, I would like to have seen his mother Laura manifested in some way rather then the rabbit, Maybe she could have appeared as MA3A since its a rumer that Laura might actualy be MA3A. I think that would have been a nice twist to bring that to light. If there is something left to be revealed in the next two issues about why Jet is seeing the rabbit then I will eat my words. I just think that since Jet is having truble dealing with his mothers death and now his fathers murder that it might be some kind of therapy for him to work through that.

Again, I'm sorry if I steped on anybodys toes. I was just expressing my opinion about the art.

I'm sorry for commenting on this post a bit late in the conversation, but it really cracked me up when I saw it the other day at work. Awesome way to make your point, lurkinghorror!

No offense was taken. You're free to hold whatever preference you like. I just urge the decision to be made for the right reasons. If you find fault with Mike's work for drawing what he was asked to draw, that's not fair to Mike. At that point, your complaint is with the story. And I would never claim the story is perfect.

Instead, judge the art quality by what is measurable. Does the story flow correctly from panel to panel. How is the quality of the line work and the consistency of the design.

Green Tank Commander Wrote:As far as how I would have presented it, I would like to have seen his mother Laura manifested in some way rather then the rabbit, Maybe she could have appeared as MA3A since its a rumer that Laura might actualy be MA3A.

But is the rabbit his mother? Is Ma3a still going to appear?

I obviously can't say. But I think my two questions underscore the difficulty in judging an incomplete story. As of the 4th issue, who the rabbit is, what the rabbit represents, and "why a rabbit" has not been revealed. Perhaps the conclusion won't satisfy you (or anyone). Perhaps when the story is complete the decision to use the image of a rabbit will make sense.

But whether or not we pull the story off, it would be a pretty poor attempt at storytelling if there was nothing new to be revealed in the last two issues. In another week or so issue 5 will (finally) be out. I look forward to how that affects your opinions.

This thread has been surprisingly hostile to the writers and artists. I am extremely happy with the series, and am excited to see the story through to completion.

People need to relax and let the story play out, then judge the content and the way the art presents it.

Kudos (not judos) to Lurking Horror and the good folks at SLG for a awsome interpretation of my favorite movie!where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I don't know if it's hostility. I think there's some frustration over the long periods between issues. That, coupled with the somewhat cryptic nature of the story is making us pull our collective circuits out by the roots while we wait for the next issue. I can tell that SLG is working really hard on this and that they have a story to tell. Sure, I'd love weekly 100 page issues :-), but I'll take whatever they can produce.

Dare I even ask about a timeline for #6? I'm thinking I might ask for it for Christmas.

Well, the book is mostly complete. Just some coloring and lettering. I think we'll see more of a rapid release between two issues like we did between issue 2 and 3.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Actually, that might be correct after all.

Since Diamond is the distributor, I pretty much trust it when they actually put up the dates, but I wasn't going to argue with you when you know the people actually printing up the book. I have seen Dark Horse's website be inaccurate compared to the Diamond Distribution list before for example.

Thanks for keeping us up to date,

Josh
