I just noticed the Tron on Wiki has some stuff in jeopardy.

An image has this under its caption:

The Solar Sailer moves through the world of Tron in this concept painting. This image is a candidate for speedy deletion. It will be deleted after seven days from the date of nomination.

A couple sections say this:

This article does not cite any references or sources. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. (help, get involved!) Unverifiable material may be challenged and removed. This article has been tagged since January 2007.

The Trivia section says this:

Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items into the main text and removing inappropriate items. (May 2007)

I've given up on Wikipedia. Every time you make a change there, it either gets erased or debated to death. The admins are dictators. It's not worth the headache. Much as it saddens me to see good information ripped out, just because your source isn't "good enough" or doesn't fit the rules to a "T".

Sad, really. Wiki isn't worth anything at all, period. Sure, it's good for quick information that can be used to google for BETTER sources of information.

I think Wikipedia has outlived its usefulness a long time ago what with people changing information to fit their whim. Already, college professors have banned using Wikipedia as a source from their classes due to this issue.

If there are companies/government editing Wikipedia at will in order to cover up criticism, it's safe to say that Wikipedia should be avoided, period. At any rate, sorry to hear the Wiki woes. If you are all willing to let the Tron information die there, then so am I. I knew there were past problems with getting it updated, but didn't know it was so out of control. We should make a Tron-Sector wiki stored here on this site that can never be messed with

Wikipedia is a nightmare. Unfortunately, it's a nightmare that many people use for information. It's become legitimized in our society. And not for a single good reason.

I'm not sure but I'm thinking that 'wiki' is some form of magic, I think it's Indian magic. They might have copyrighted 'Wikipedia' but I don't think they could copyright wiki.
Also, they shouldn't change the information on TRON. Who better to provide us with TRON info than DaveTRON? He was in the production of 2.0, and David 'Auric' Hernley (Webmaster) recieved a special thanks (lol yes I actually read the credits)
In short, as I said before, they should leave TRON to the experts (us)

Yeah, see that's what I was thinking. If we don't create a Tron wiki there, someone else will eventually.

I mean, in theory we could create a wiki or something like it here on Tron-Sector. But creating a Tron site on Wikia would allow us to get started right away, and prevent someone else from creating another wiki. The wikimedia software also allows us to easily collaborate. The only catch is having to learn the wiki markup language. It takes a bit of getting used to.
