I agreed with it though...Marvel movies (except for Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four which was very childlike) are always better ^^

That seems so strange for me. Until relatively recently, Marvel movies were considered a joke in comparison to DC.

Well.. in all truth... Marvel and DC both make some great movies. Better than movies based on games..
It's like this... If they do make a 'Flash' movie or 'Green Lantern'... I'm soooooooooooooooooooo going to go see it...
If they make a 'Captain American' and/or 'Ms. Marvel'... I'm soooooooooooooo going to see it too..
Although this whole video thing is more of a pun, the truth is that we have some really awesome movies from both sides and I'm so glad that we do.
Remember the Marvel Vs. DC comics? It was a draw because both companies respect each other now...
ooooooooooooooooooo.... and the Civil War... Talk about crazy. I wished they would make that into a movie... WOW..
Tony Stark is a bastard... Read the CW comics to find out why..

These days, sure. But before a handful of years ago, were there any good Marvel movies?
Better than movies based on games... |
I gotta put Doom over Daredevil, Ghostrider, the Hulk or that recent Superman movie.
Everything else you say is very wise. Although I liked the name "Warbird" over "Ms. Marvel".

If you can get a hold of the Director's Cut of Daredevil, it's actually a LOT better than the original version.

Doom? Really?
Daredevil wasn't great, but it was watchable.
Hulk never got me interested enough to watch.
Ghost Rider is stupid turn off your brain fun.
Superman Returns has proven to be watchable for me. While it's not what I had hoped it would be, it's still entertaining. I just hate that they gave him a kid, that sucked!!!
Doom on the other hand is a snore-fest to me. I consider it one of the larger pieces of crap foisted on us in recent movie history. Just my opinion

I didn't like Doom. ....but thats just me.
I do agree that early Marvel movies weren't very good. I did like Captain America (it was an early 90's film I think).
I didn't care much for Dare Devil, but it was good to watch. It wasn't that its bad film, just one that didn't really spark much of an interest. Same with Hulk.
When it comes down to it, it's the Spider-Man / Bat-Man thing..
I haven't see Ghost Rider yet... It looks really good, but all I seen were the previews.

The thing that sold me on Doom was how it twisted the expectations with the traditional "hero" role. It was certainly too slow in parts, and I wish some aspects had been different. But something about the transition the Rock's character makes in the final act really worked for me. The direction of the plot denied the expectations of the genre.
It's easy to tell the basic heroic journey. It's easy to integrate the standard "boy meets girl" subplot. Utilizing these elements doesn't make a movie bad, certainly. Spider-Man (the first one) was very good. Batman (the new one) was okay. But there was nothing unsafe about the structure of these stories. There was nothing new.
Another example of a film that denies expectations is The 13th Warrior. There is no love story. The central character is not the main character. He's not the hero and this is not truly his story. Instead, we see the traditional heroic journey filtered through his eyes.
I like action movies. I like movies about guys hitting people with swords or web swinging through the city. But after a point, the formulaic nature of these films becomes to apparent. I know how each and every film will wrap up. All to often, the exact same way the last one did. Someone comes along and dares to break those conventions, in my opinion that makes for - if not better storytelling - a more interesting viewing experience.
