Burt came to me as a foster rat from a large (ie: 100+ rats) foster operation. I had every intention of rehoming him but he had other ideas as he quickly wormed his way into my heart. A bold, cheerful and outgoing rat he only had one minor flaw - his hormones prevented him from living with other rats. In an attempt to counter this I decided to have him castrated to see if it would help. Unfortunately he never awoke from the anaesthetic.

I'm so sorry Burt. I hope you enjoyed the few months you had with me, I wish you could have had more. I'm really going to miss you, little man.

Yeah, he was certainly a hormonal little boy. Great with people but terrible with other rats. I did try to intro him to one of my groups but he tore a huge hole in the scruff of Bilbo's neck, which is why I decided to try castration.
