Oh, I'd say it's right up there. In fact, when I saw this the other day on break at work (forgot to comment when I got home), the FIRST thought that came to mind was this is to TRON what the Christmas Special was to Star Wars.
I think someone at Disney should be shot for this... or at least hit in the head with a frisbee by EVERY self-respecting TRON fan out there!
Since this obviously has nothing to do with TRON, aside from the fact that they're wearing TRON costumes (not to mention dancing like idiots in them), my guess is that someone was walking through the wardrobe building over at Disney simply looking for matching costumes to cut the cost of making new costumes. They saw these black and white matching costumes, not knowing what the hell they were from, and thought "wouldn't it look great to have a bunch of people leaping about in these things?"
Disney just LOVES to disrespect anything to do with TRON.
** sigh **
Thank God I didn't know about this back in the 80's. I'm sure it would have made me cry.
And thanks for that repeating animation, Boingo_Buzzard - totally ridiculous moves over and over and over and over. That is funny!

Well, it actually does relate. This is the "Electrical Parade" and the characters in Tron are electrical as well. It would relate better if the suits glowed to match the old light up floats.
I don't know, mabey I'm just strange... but I'm not all that bothered by this segment like some it seems.

I thought perhaps the upbeat part was a bit much, for the amount of goofyness. I know it's for kids, and all that, so.... The video, and street entertainment, is fine, but, I would think that the picture put words in my mind like, someone looking at tron, at times square, on the ticker tape too, with the carrier in hot pursuit, of the solar sailor, know what I mean? like um... electric tron was not a lightbulb, and smoking dragon, with bad music, hahaha I'm just waiting for a tron float............ or not.
ps. in the lyrics, the sisters sing: "I'm so busy doing the neutron dance"??? or something to that effect,

Yeah - I thought about that shortly after posting. It dawned on me that it was the "Electrical Parade" and the TRON costumes were likely intended to hone on on that theme.

Strange? I doubt you are more strange than me, my friend.  Or maybe I'm just weird or odd. Of course, I do have the word "odd" built in to my name.
The clip is absurd and in that respect kind of funny. What bothers me is that I've always thought of TRON characters as really cool - from the concept to the costumes, etc. TRON comedy and humor is something I can dig. I'm used to people making fun of TRON and I'm not at all offended at jokes that poke fun of TRON - in fact, I often find them very humorous.
What gets me about this clip is that it is not TRON humor or supposed to be funny - it's actually supposed to be straight forward entertaining and "cool". To see people dancing around so silly, dressed in TRON costumes is... well, the proper word eludes me, but it doesn't work in my book. To see kiddie Disney characters dancing and prancing around like that works. With TRON characters, especially the TRON guards, it just looks ridiculous. I never thought of TRON as a kids movie - it is more of an all ages movie to me (although I fell in love with it as an 11 year old kid myself). The whole dance routine is beyond cartoony - it's absurdly silly. As a comedy - it would work, but it's not intended as such and therefore...
Crap - I'm repeating myself.
Anyway - that's why the clip is so awful in my book. Good find because it's TRON related (even if not in the best of ways) and very obscure, but other than that, ewwwww!
