Popcorn

on Sunday, June, 17, 2007 10:08 PM
Just what was in Alan's popcorn that made it so coveted? Why didn't he market his recipie? It could have prevented Encom from loosing money and made a buyout unnecessary.

I'm sure if he had just shared some of that popcorn with Dillinger he would have been granted enough access to continue with his Tron program.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Ah, you see, the popcorn in Tron 2.0 was no longer "revolutionary" as Boingo Buzzard pointed out (and I agree with), but now "retro" since the type of air-popped popcorn maker in the break room at ENCOM in 2.0 is EXACTLY the type from the early 80's. Nowadays people tend to use just microwave popcorn... Mmmm, retro popcorn!

Say, Boingo Buzzard; been meaning to ask you; you didn't grow up in Orange County, CA, did you? If you did (and happen to be around my age), AND are/were a huge Onigo Boingo fan, then we may have some shared memories and/or acquaintances.

No, I didn't grow up in southern Ca., but I was quite the rabid Boingo/Elfman fan at one time. I have since cooled WAY down on that whole scene, but still like their music.

YOU probably remember them back to the Mystic Knights days, eh?

Yeah; their early days, the yearly Halloween concerts... even a local radio contest for a high school to receive a free concert. The way to win the contest was to see which high school could send the radio station the most postcards. Fountain Valley High School won, my high school was a close second. We'd spend homeroom class time addressing pre-printed postcards (all cards had to be addressed by hand). That was 1985 or '86.

Wasn't a HUGE fan myself, but I enjoy their music, and they were a "local" band... Oh, a good friend of mine in the 1980's was very active in some kind of fan club (nation wide?)... back in the days before internet, naturally, and a network of fans would call and write to each other if/as Oingo Boingo events were happening. I seem to remember that my friend met all the band members when they were filming a video in Los Angeles at Olvera Street. At the time (for about a 16 year old), it was once of the most exciting things that had happened for him. They all signed his jacket, on which he had a Boingo skull icon stenciled.

Sorry, everyone, that this got a bit away from popcorn and TRON, but I guess some of these reminiscent, residual memories are all tied into the influential years surrounding when TRON was released.

...wish I had attended the "US" festival.

At least we DID have an air popcorn popper just like the one in TRON back then.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Actually... I now believe that the "popcorn" guy was using the popcorn as an excuse to get into Alan's pod so he could either have at that succulent looking apple, or blast Journey tunes from that awesome transistor radio.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Figures ENCOM is all about apples and oranges. No wonder things didn't work at that company right.
