Babylon 5 - The Lost Tales

on Wednesday, April, 25, 2007 1:17 PM
There is more B5 coming.

Here is the press release:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7217
Here is the box art:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7211

And its now available for pre-order over at amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/Babylon-5-The-Lost-T...5926&sr=1-1
JMS has said if this one does well there will be even more. And I'd say the odds of that are very good at the moment. The DVD is now ranked #5 and its only been on sale for 2 days with no real advertising.

I wonder what the record is at Amazon.com for a DVD that is still using the "No image available" picture. I'd be willing to bet this is it.

One very happy B5 fan,
Carl

NICE!!

Looking forward to it myself, was a bit dissaponted how Crusade was canned would have been nice to see how that developed.

Always nice to see B5 in action. Have I mentioned that I've met Bruce Boxleitner years ago? was fantastic. Got him to sign a Captain Sheridan photo plus his book. Was great!

FINALLY!

B5 is easily the best sci-fi TV show ever made, bar none. To be able to experience more B5 is wonderful!

I still wonder if we'll ever get to see the footage they made for the aborted B5 space combat game. Man, I was so looking forward to playing Into the Fire. To this day, I'm pissed about it getting killed for no good reason.

Wow, that's awesome. I was really disappointed when Crusade was canceled. That series had so much potential.

And I didn't care much for Legend of the Rangers. It was kind of a low note to go out on.

I hope this project revives interest in B5 and results in more to come.

If you avoid spoilers you may want to avoid this article.

Count me amongst the disappointed, also. As ST DS9 was a lighter B5, Crusade was shaping up to be a darker ST Voyager.

Yeah, at the time I was also somewhat disappointed by Legend of the Rangers. However, looking back I now take into condsideration that it was basically a pilot for a show that never got off the ground, so we never got the chance to see the concept fully fleshed out. Do I now think it's great? No, but I do cut it a little more slack.

If we're really lucky, this will generate enough profit to make releasing B5 Into the Fire look like a good idea. Yeah, maybe I am beating a dead horse. But when it comes to sci-fi, sometime dead things forget to stay that way...where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

I have to admit, I've never watched Babylon 5 (shame!), but I recently found out that this guy, Jason Carter (or Marcus Cole)...

You know - Babylon 5 was one of those shows that I tried to get in to. I watched a few episodes (not from the start), but I couldn't get in to it. It just didn't draw me in.

It has my respect for 3 reasons:

1) Bruce Boxleitner
2) Peter Jurasik
3) Good sci-fi (even though I didn't care for it, pretty much all I hear of it is good)

Y'all enjoy.

Babylon 5 is one of those shows that started off very slow, and you had to be a regular viewer in order for it to pay off. The pilot and the entire first season were a bit tedious, and dare I say, boring.

Things didn't really start to pick up until the third season. And then once the big action started, everything that happened during the previous seasons suddenly fell into place and clicked. It all made sense. You could then see how so many things had been foreshadowed in the previous seasons, setting the stage for the major conflict that was to come.

The third and fourth seasons were packed with action and excitement.

Then the fifth season came, and felt like kind of an afterthought. It was still interesting, but the best stories had already been told by that point. This had a lot to do with the fact that the show was nearly canceled at the end of its fourth season, so the story was basically wrapped up at the end of season four as a result.

I can't remember which season it was in when I watched a few episodes. I do remember a sense of not really getting the show - there didn't seem to be much purpose to it other than existing. The makeup effects (like the lizzard people, whatever they were called) were really cool and I admired other aspects of the show, but it just didn't grab my attention for some reason. Perhaps it was during a lull between major events or something. Funny thing is that I had no idea at the time that TRON and CROM were the two characters that they were! Somehow I just didn't make the connection until years later, which makes me wish I had stuck with it even more.

The same thing happened with Farscape. The advertisements for it seemed so cool and I've always been a fan of Jim Henson's creatures, but when I watched the show (long after it had been on for a while), I just didn't get it. I think I caught it too late and just didn't get it without knowing more of the back-story in previous episodes.

Sucks because both shows seem so well admired from pretty much all the sci-fi fans I know. Oh well.

Oh man, Farscape is another amazing show and, of course, one of my favorites. It's really off-the-wall, and also very smart. I can remember watching it when it first aired and thinking 'What the...?! They're really doing this? Woah.' while loving every minute.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

See what I mean? EVERYONE loves these shows! I'm the only sci-fi lovin' guy who never got in to them.

Man - I think I really missed out on that one. I LOVE off-the-wall stuff!

Maybe I'll just have to take a leap and invest in the DVD set of the show. Perhaps catching it from the start [the show] will make more sense and be more appealing. I'll need something new to watch anyway once I'm through the rest of the DS9 seasons. Been enjoying that show again for the first time since it was originally on. Great stuff AND it is one of only a few shows that the wife and I can both enjoy together.

One excellent example of the show's ground-breaking is the astoundingly unique mechanism used to enable all of the odd and wonderful characters from all of those odd and wonderful worlds to understand what each other is saying.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Not quite. Try a syringe full of Translator Microbes that colonize at the base of your brain.

That is interesting.

How might they work?

Perhaps they open up one's mind to the rhythms in speech of other languages and make it possible to understand based on that.

Maybe they simply act as neural receptors that pick up on the intentions or energies caused by communication of another.

People speak whatever they speak, and the person hears what their brain translates (care of the translator microbes) as their own language.

It's always fun to pick apart the potential science behind things. Who knows - maybe translator microbes are not so much science-fiction but rather science-future. where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Yes, that's pretty much how they operate. It's interesting how some words - like swear words - don't translate, so when the alien characters swear the character from Earth doesn't know what they're saying.

Science fiction is simply that which hasn't happened yet.
