I'm sure they worked with a budget. All the robots shown are costume type robots, so I can see how that is more affordable compared to a fully animatroic Johnny 5. It's from a Soviet Russia movie called "Planeta Burg," which was edited, redubbed, and released in America as "Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet" back in the early 60s. Movie info can be found here. I' don't think the robot even has a name.
They did their research, notice the robot has a Russian accent.
