Visual Futurist: The Art & Life of Syd Mead



Syd Mead (the designer of the Lightcycle, Tank, Sark's Carrier and Solar Sailer) has a documentary about his life and his wonderful artwork. The documentary has interviews with many people including TRON's own Steven Lisberger and Richard Taylor! This movie looks absolutely awesome!

BTW, on a off topic note, my brothers and I wrote a fan letter to the Hot Wheels guy that they interviewed in the video, Nathan Proch. His response to our fan letter was a 1.5 ft X 1.5 ft box full of Hot Wheels memorabilia with autographs and everything! He's a real awesome guy.

Yeah, this was on the front page a long time ago. I also want to see that documentary, quite badly.

I've had some communication with the director via e-mail, and he told me that the film will likely see distribution on DVD this year. At least, things looked that way the last time I heard back from him.
