Well... I won't be touching the Master System, and I might do a few games that were during and after Sonic...

But what I meant was games like:

Revenge Of Shinobi
Phantasy Star 2
Golden Axe
Last Battle
Strider
etc...

But knowing me I'll most likely do a handful of games including Sonic.

Things never go as planned with me. For instance, I intended to just to C64 games but did Amiga games instead. I was going to move directly to the PC but the software I'm using doesn't seem to work with a lot of PC games that I'm wanting to review (so I'm looking for better software). I also said that I would never take requests but I'm working on "Shadow Of The Beast II" which was a request from a friend of mine deep within the Amiga community... shhhh... don't tell anyone because some of those guys can be rather demanding... lol..

Basicly, I'm going to do reviews of games I know well which is really allot. So chances are that I'll cover several games that you may know..

When I hit the arcade game reviews, I want to review TRON first. Even though it's suppose to be retro games, I do have planned to do a review on TRON 2.0.

Most PC games that I want to review will be pre-1998 except for freeware games that I like so that everyone can download and play if they liked the review.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

That sounds good (about the PC games). When you say Freeware, do you also mean _abandonware_, or...? Just curious.

Sorry I sounded like such an idiot in my last post. I didn't mean to come across that whiny. Sure, my first internal reaction when I read that you'd be staying "pre-Sonic" with Sega was. "Oh. Great." but I didn't actually need to say that _out loud_...

I meant to go and edit my post to sound a lot less...annoying but then I fell asleep before I got around to it. :P Anyway, sorry.

I never read too much into posts, but even at that you didn't come off as being whiny or anything. In fact, you expressed a love for the Genesis system.. And that is good in my book..

I just have two videos to get out of the way before I get the Genesis started. My first review will be of "Revenge Of Shinobi" but I haven't decided on the 2nd yet... I may do it as PSII... I think I still have a lot of save states that should make it easier..

Speaking of RPGs... Have you ever played any of the "Shining Force" series? The battles were sort of chess like and really fun to play..

Oh... Freeware and Abandonware... depending on the games... good freeware games are so hard to find but I have ran across some really excellent ones that play well with WinXP..

Oh, good. I'm always writing posts that I think sound fine at the time, and then by the time I realise "WHAT was I THINKING?!" it's already been read, responded to, and quoted (so I can't edit it and pretend it was originally different anymore!) I just assumed I'd done that yet again, here. :P

As for the Phantasy Star Games...I'm aware that very few people like 3, but I'm definitely one of them. (And that's not counting the two I DIDN'T bother to send in to DeviantArt...)
The one I actually like the best is IV, but I haven't drawn as much artwork for it yet. (That's not really a good indication of how fannish over something I am...more like...how much its style makes me want to draw it.) And I even have a bit of love for II, although not as much.

I dunno what it is...2 is touted as The Really Good one, but for me, it was more difficult than I was in the mood for and then your reward each time is that you get to see something _horrible_ happen! (or so it seemed), and then, after all that work, you don't even get a happy ending. I like to SAY I'm a cynic, but the reality is that the amount I've suffered with/for a given set of characters is directly proportional to how much I want a good ending for them. I can take dark snarky relish in creepy endings on _short_ stories, but if it's long, then by the end I'll have gotten attached to at least one of the people or feel worn out by their struggle along with them, and I will NEED a good ending. It's therapeutic.

...and Phantasy Star II didn't have that.

PSIII, however (not to be mistaken for the Playstation 3), had that nice _twist_ ending which I saw coming a while back, but still liked anyway, and it was probably only because I'm up on my classic sci-fi. I wonder how many of the target audience figured it out ahead of time...

Four, however, has everything. Enough darkness to keep you on your toes but not enough to depress you...humour, sadness, plot twists, colourful characters, travelling, lots of locations, lots of spells, cool costumes, awesome music and a WHAM-BANG ending in which you end up saving the entire godsdamned universe. THAT is what I call a _game_.

Because of its "summer blockbuster satisfying" feel, that tends to be most peoples' favourite and/or the one that's considered the "cheap way out", the "easy choice", "too popular", to where liking it is common, but those who say so (and I used to hang out on a Phantasy Star fan community forum) can bite me. I like it because it _is_ the best.

...eeeanyway. As for abandonware...I know of a really good site where you can get a lot of it, BUT they're also really strict about not giving out the ones that are still under the whatever-it-is rules, so they're like, reputable...and they have a forum that's already full of all kinds of technical hints as to how to get the games working in XP, and if what you need solved isn't there already,

1998 is your cutoff year? It's good thing Interstate '76 is from 1997 then!

You plan on reviewing any DOS games? Games like Wolfenstein 3D, Star Wars: Dark Forces, and System Shock would be great.

How about Windows RPGs, like Fallout? Fallout is from 1997, and I doubt that any RPG on any console system can touch it, even today.

Seriously, to everyone reading this: if you haven't played Fallout or Fallout 2, you're missing out on a fantastic gaming experience.

How about any adventure games, e.g. Grim Fandango?

I know you said you don't take suggestions, but I felt like throwing some out there for the heck of it.

Ooh, adventure games. MONKEY ISLAND! MONKEY ISLAND!!!

...ahem, sorry. I would also not at all mind reviews of Maniac Mansion, the older Indiana Jones adventure games, Zack McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders...any of the Discworld games...

Ooh! Ooh! How 'bout really oldschool? The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text game! Beauracracy? The Zork trilogy? WHOO!

...as you can see, I'm a bit of an adventure game fan.

Ok... I'm still doing this... I just have to finish up on whatever I have left-over from "Shadow Of The Beast II"...

I had planned to have this finished many months ago but real life issues (and the arrival of I-76 Arsenal) got in the way...

Once I'm finished with it, I will go directly to PC... I'll do Sega after that... (that is if my software works)....

Great recap.

And I've been looking forward to those PC reviews. You've been away for too long. But you said why in the video. Sorry to hear about family members passing away.

Looking forward to more videos in the future.

Thanks buddy..

I'm getting to PC game reviews very soon. I'm going to try and work on a personal computer history video and then I'm hitting DOS games first... that is if I can find the right software to record gameplay. If I can ever get I-76 to work on my XP system, then I'm deffently going to do a review of that.

I wished I had a video camera... I have some insane ideas that I would like to try out.. :P

Thanks again, TronFAQ...

Great review recap, Qix77!

I didn't know any of these games until you reviewed them in your previous videos, but as usual, your presentation style and sense of humor in the review make them really fun to watch.

I LOVE your rating system!

It may not mean much, but it got me chuckling each time. I particularly enjoyed the demonic hauntings and the stale Cheeto. That can't be a good rating!

I hope you're able to continue with your game review videos. They're a lot of fun to watch. Life in the real world does get hectic and busy, so I know its hard to squeeze in time for these things. Keep up the good work though - if and when you can.
