http://67.15.245.144/bz2scrap/bz2lan.1.3.pb3.tron.exe I'm working on one, and am in beta testing -- the game engine is done, the assets are done (it needs optimizing though), what's not there yet is the single player campaign -- multiplayer is already more than playable.

Thanks, wanna help?
Mostly I need to identify what infantry and units should be in it, at this stage... (I also need to split the TRON stuff from the other stuff, which I am doing now -- it will be about a 30MB download when I do).
Anyone who can do graphics is definitely welcome on board -- I can read any 3D format except for .max

Here's the game with only the actual tron stuff in it -- some maps won't work (if you get a console screen when starting a map, use ctrl + the ~ key to clear it). The main advantage is that it's only 20mb.

soz im no programmer. i can test any beta versions u cum up with tho u culd try putting a recogniser or a gridbug in. u culd come up with a icp faction with sec rezzers and the 'super-unit'; the ic kernel. or a super light cycle, so it culd b like a tougher scout than the original.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill My humble little internet slice. I'm not too hot at art -- I see in the fanart section that someone did a gridbug rendering... could i use that mesh? How do I get a hold of the author?

Basically, I'm for tron games of any kind, though RTS seems like a weird choice. I'd like to see an RPG like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic featuring the original characters as well as newer ones.

Oh, I totally agree. An RPG of the "Tron" universe would RULE ON HIGH.
Mind you, I'd try out the rts if if gets finished, too. But I'm picturing something like...kinda in 3D like Tron 2.0, and has cut-scenes with dialogue and stuff and build points to equal "levels", but instead of enemies constantly leaping out at you to be defeated in real-time with fast action you wander around the world on quests, and go into different computer "cities" to talk to the programs there, and maybe at one point sail across the Sea of Simulation to reach a distant land, or get a passkey onto the Internet so that you can travel around the world (it'd be equivalent of finally getting the airship in a Final Fantasy game--WHOO, I CAN GO _ANYWHERE_ NOW! FREEDOM!)
That would totally kick.
Not that I have even the slightest idea how to program anything, though. :P

Well, it's a fps/rts hybrid -- you're "on the ground" as a program, but you also get to command other programs and vehicles like LCs, tanks and recognizers. Right now you can play one vs. one, team play or free for all. There's also deathmatch levels (and one lightcycle arena, of course, although that can only be played on a LAN for now for lag reasons).
http://67.15.245.144/bz2scrap/tron_standalone.zip
Here's the latest build. The controls are:
WASD Movement
Mouse Aiming
MRight Choose weapon
MLeft Fire
E Jump (on foot)
C "Use" key (disc on foot, align turret on tank, turn on map on radar, grab on recognizer)
H Hop out of vehicle
1 Build a vehicle, 1-0 to select what
2 Build an item or a program, 1-0 to select what
3 Build a powerup, SPACE to where you want it launched
F1-F10 Select a unit to command, 1-0 to select command
Space Confirm command (if movement, aim to where you want the unit to move)order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Chrono Trigger...EEK! What, you mean, like you step through a gate and suddenly you're in this very primitive-looking world with lots of blinky lights, and the programs all look like vaccuum tubes...because you're in the _'50s_! (Which would be equivalent to the "Stone Age" for computers...well, I guess technically we COULD try to throw you back to the 1870's or so and find out if Ada Lovelace's programs for Babbage's difference engine were also sentient, but...)
"Modern day", where you start from, would be the early '80s, to match the movie, so that there's also a "forward" to go to. (Which would be _our_ modern day.) Maybe the first time you visit the '90s you're surprised to see some programs who are clad all in silvery-looking material, instead of the traditional circuit boards, because they were made on a CD-ROM instead of a floppy. Or maybe not the people, but you can come across this big wide open flat silvery expanse within the computer, as a _place_...
Or we could have the future be the actual _future_, like, Star Trek/Babylon 5 timeline...I don't even KNOW what the programs and landscape would look like then, it'd have to be pretty trippy. (And if it is Babylon 5, let's just hope Sheridan and Londo don't get slurped into the station computer. )
Oh, yeah, I'm full of ideas. Absolutely no practical skills when it comes to making games, but I got ideas. :P Actually at the moment I _am_ helping out a friend of mine with a game--it's going to be a 16-bit style RPG-maker one and I'm drawing the background graphics.
Anyway. Oops. Sorry, Spiritplumber and Data Ghost, I didn't mean to take over your topic. Sorry. (hides)
