There are a couple of rules about the Internet.

1) Nobody owes you anything.
2) Nothing can change rule #1.

None of us are obligated to reply to your posts. If that bothers you then yes, you need to move on. I personally don't feel that I need to be made to feel like crap and be "punished" by you leaving when I don't even know you, and you don’t pay my mortgage.

Besides.... if you're talking about your Tron On Ice post, nobody replied because that SAME clip has been posted about probably FIFTY times on this site. We've all seen it.

I think the current regulars at TRON-Sector pay attention to pretty much all of the posts here. Sometimes they've got a comment to add and sometimes not.

I've started more than one thread that went without a single response. It happens - nothing to take offense to. You put stuff out there and if people take an interest in it then conversations start up. If not, then you put something else out there and see what happens.

Many of the TRON-Sector regulars have been dropping off the radar as their lives in the real world have been getting busier. Some people are busy with school projects or getting full time jobs for the first time, etc. There are fewer regulars here right now and therefore thread responses are not happening as quickly as they were a few months ago.

Oh well. If you've decided to walk away for good, that's too bad. I'll miss your fun posting style, Astrozombbie!!!. I'll probably always remember you best for the amazing "female cosplay" thread you started some time back. Probably one of TRON-Sector's most popular threads.

You're always welcome here. Perhaps you'll come back and pay us a visit again sometime.

I'm not sure if Astrozombbie was replying to Sora.EXE'S thread or not, and perhaps accidentally created a new one instead.

Although I don't apologize for my comments, because I would have meant them *had* you been leaving in a huff....... I guess I can laugh that I took it seriously... I guess. Next time, if I can make a suggestion, if you're making a joke that could provoke comments like mine, can you at least allude it's a joke somewhere in the original message?

What does this mean? I'm thinking something is getting lost in the translation. TimothyC implies that is maybe witty, yet I've not heard this phrase before or don't understand it.

Please help explain, for my curiosity's sake

I wouldn't go that far. I just re-read Astrosombie's post several times, and I see no indication of anything so strong as hate or any other passionate form of fear, anger, or resentment toward any of the TRON-Sector community.

There is an obvious lack of proper translation in the language barrier, but the key elements appear to be:

1) starting out with a laugh "he, he"
2) indication of ignored posts
3) indication of not understanding purpose for ignoring posts (the slightly strange part)
4) sitting down badly (which I'm sure means something to the extent of "I took this kind of hard" or "this doesn't sit well with me"
5) leaving TRON-Sector
6) Farewell and good luck to us
7) the smile at the end is generally considered a friendly sign, not hostile or hateful

Everyone is free to interpret this thread as they choose. I firmly believe that Astrozombie!!! was playing what he felt was nothing more than a playful prank and not trying to set anyone off. It seems that the prank sat down badly with some people, and was not appreciated.

Was it funny or not?

Everyone's sense of humor is different. I saw no harm or sign of malice in the post and certainly no sign of "hate", but I sense that others may have felt tricked and some emotions were triggered as a result.

In the end, a statement was made, people interpreted it differently, made comments as to such, and then it was revealed that it was a joke. Perhaps without the cultural differences and no language barrier to trip over, all of this would have amounted to nothing more than MutoidMan's "I'm leaving to get some coffee" thread.
