Folks,
Everyone here knows how much I love TRON. Of that there can be no doubt.
Many of you know of my deep frustrations with this site and its functionality.
Others know of my dissatisfaction with the TRON fan community as a whole, the I AM A TRON FAN video debacle being a key driver in what I am about to say.
I am addicted to TRON Sector, but I quit, and I can promise you it's for good this time.
Many of you have become good frieinds to me. I like spending time with you, but I can't come here anymore.
I've done this three or four times now. I get so frustrated that I quit. I say I am not coming back, and then something happens to make me come back. I've spent a lot of time thinking about what it is that brings me back and it's two things.
1. I miss the community and my frieinds.
2. I have no other outlet for my TRON information.
Knowing that, I am taking two steps to solve both of those issues and to leave TRON Sector behind me for good this time.
First, I am starting my own TRON web site. It will start small, but over the course of the next month it will grow up quick.
Second, When it's online, I will ask Sketch to post something here, and I hope to see many of you over there as well.
Those two steps should help to alleviate my withdrawl pangs for a TRON site.
I also want to make one point crystal clear. I hope TRON Sector lasts forever. I hope that many years from now people are still visiting something called TRON Sector.
I don't want this site to die, I am not doing this from anger or hatred, I just don't feel like I can do what I want to do here within these confines. Especially when they person who built it and controls the code pays so little attention to it anymore.
TRON Sector will never be what I want it to be, so I am going to go make the thing I want and supplement the TRON community with that new site. There's room for both.
I wish you all well, and I hope I will see some of you over there when I go live. Until then...
DaveTRON signing off.
BTW: For those of you who want to tell me something after this message, send it to my email address at darnspiger@earthlink.net. I will not be back here to read any replies or comments.

And thus ends the reign of the 'benevolent MCP', as you often put it.
At least on this site. I guess we'll be seeing you soon over at your new one. Although TRON-Sector can never die, it'll be nice to have a less buggy source of information to check up on aswell (interestingly, whilst trying to post this, I ended up logged in as KiaPurity, and on a strange error page).
Fare thee well, for now, Dave!abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I'm sorry you've decided to leave The Sector again. I'm pretty sure I know the "deep frustrations with this site and its functionality" you speak of. You will be missed around here! Even so, I know you're not leaving the TRON community and will be looking forward to the goodies you put up on your new TRON website.
We'd all love to see you around here again though. Just in case you ever change your mind, we'll leave an I/O tower open for you.
Take care.

Okay everyone: one -- two -- three!!!! Let's all jump ship together! I think DaveTron's new site should transfer over our post counts from here so we can just start there with both feet running. What do you think?
I'm also not a big fan of the lack of usability, coupled with bugs, this site has. It seems this site is Auric's hobby rather than his passion; which makes it hard to improve things. That's totally fine and understandable, and I'd probably do the same. But as a user (non-paying customer), it makes the experience less than ideal; and you feel powerless to change it.
I've heard enough about how lame we all are for not joining the I'm A Tron Fan cause. I signed the petitions. That's all I wish to contribute. Choosing not to video tape myself saying "I'm a Tron fan!" has no bearing on how much I love Tron. Sorry, I've just grown tired of the unwarranted cheap shots at the community here for our lack-luster enthusiasm. I think DaveTron forgot how much easier it is to socially influence people in real life versus over the internet. Plus, he's in California where everyone he knows is probably already on film or wishes to be. With that, I could probably meet someone who knows nothing about Tron in the local super market there, and convince them to say "I'm a Tron fan" on video. And somehow that would make them a better Tron fan than me, or you. Hmm...
This is Dave's departure #3 (unless there were some I missed). Not sure why it always has to be so melodramatic -- I thought he might learn after the first two -- but I look forward to seeing the new site when he's got it up and running. I'm sure he'll be back here some day, whether he admits it or not. Regardless, if his site is better than here, which I have a feeling it will be, then we should all go there and re-convene on a server without grid bugs and with better usability.
A less dramatic way to depart would've been to stop coming here for a few months, and then surprise us with the new site. Explain he just had enough with Tron-Sector, and invite us over there. Simple. Easy. Less drama.

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Best of luck with your new site, Dave. I can sympathize with your frustrations about this site a little, it seems to be in a state of neglect.
Perhaps one day you'll re-join us here. If not, I'm sure we'll all still cross paths with you out there in the electronic world.

Its not because of the good friends that I have met here on TS. I'll be missing you guys and gals dearly over here. And being the second bean here in posts. Yesterday conked out due to a database error. Sorry that broke the straw on this tech support/programmer back here. If you want to keep in touch with me. There will be in yahoo im under compucore88. I know things have been buggy for a while, Compucore, but things will get better soon. Nothing will change overnight, but I've been in touch with Auric and things should be looking up for The Sector in the future. No time table or anything, but this site isn't going to dry up and fade away or just dissappear or anything.
If you need a little time off, by all means take it. We all need a break from this or that sometimes. But don't give up on The Sector.
Things will be ok.

It just happens, there's way too much to deal with in life. X_x
And the site problems aren't helping much. (I couldn't post very well as of late not to mention that I am dealing with a family emergency that is stressing me out.)

Oy...
Guys I know the site has issues... And it's usually only me that can fix them I understand that. But I'm busy running my own company working 60+ hours a week with a one year old at home and all. I don't get on the PC at home nearly as much as I use too.
It was mentioned that this is no longer my Passion, occupying the free time of my day. That's fair. But understand that it's hard to have many passions when you come home, eat, sleep and then repeat. I'm not making excuses but it's also fair to say my free time is usually nil. That was the main reason TS was born so many years ago... We all loved Tron but few of us had time to work on our own sites daily. We wanted to combine our efforts to provide the best coverage possible.
I can't speak for why Dave has to make his permanent exits so melo-dramatic, but if he wants his own site then more power too him. The Tron fan community can only benefit from more exposure.
TheReelTodd has always kept me in the loop when I've been away. I sent an email to him with the following things:
1) The site will be on it's own box no later than February. My whole server room is being revamped and this will help the most common 'issue' of the user-switching and database getting full. The simple truth of those is that this site was created over 6 years ago sharing it's space with other sites and was never projected to be this popular. It needs room to breath. Period.
2) The File upload needs to be totally re-written and I expect to do that some time in November. It wasn't done right from the start (my bad), so it needs a cleaning grenade.
I think most of you know by now that I take criticism in stride. I believe in being honest, and if your remark is valid I'll take the arrow to the chest, heh. I may not be here in the trenches on a daily basis, but I'll always be here.

For what its worth I really like TRON-Sector bugs and all. I too have a web site and I now feel like I go through the same come home, eat, sleep, and then repeat routine. And all I've had on my web site...

I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, and I MAJORLY appreciate your time and expense you've put into this site.
But (there's always a but, huh? )).. can the search PLEASE be updated/enhanced?
I feel like I will double post on subjects because I cannot find them in the search. :/
