I've had a couple of them over the years. Dunno if any of them really fit the cliche super-hero template though. I guess my most interesting would be "Beyond." He was a scientist who made a breakthrough in interdimensional travel and was the first human (that we know of) to travel to an alternate reality. The dimension he visited could only be described as a utopia.

Everything went fine, until problems occurred during his return trip. He became trapped between the 2 dimensions with parts of his essence existing in both. This earned him unique abilities such as the ability to walk through solid matter, fold space, become intangible, and control matter on a 'sub-reality' level.

Forever torn between the worlds, he can never live a normal life again, and has chosen to dedicate himself to teaching this world what the other one already knows.

I've had one since it was released. About four years ago, it broke, and last year I had the urge to go Dreamcasting. So I bought another from eBay, and I had one working one and one broken one. Then the working one broke, so I looked it up on the internet and managed to fix them both.
