I use "Babel Fish" to translate text and pages, however like most translation software/web sites, it still has trouble with Japanese... Here is an example that I used from a letter sent to me from my old ISP, Shawneelink.net.
Mr. Jody Craig,
We at ShaweenLink realize the importance of customer feedback. Without your comments and suggestions, our company, as well as the quality of your service, would cease to grow. We have listened to your concerns and have acted accordingly
Now in Japanese (the font may not show up well).

You know... Even though several things were changed, it didn't do a bad job that time. Most of the time it is pretty much unreadable... maybe they upgraded the site a little bit.

Randomly messing around with the translator, I didn't find anything translated into Jappanese...though...Joy Division (A band I'm addicted to) looks pretty cool.
(Then, I remembered the name of the band meant something...but I can't remember.)

Don't feel bad, my friend. I studied the Japanese language for 2 years in high school, 1 year in college & 3 years while living in Japan and I STILL find the language to be very, very challenging.
You are fortunate, though, I must agree. Lots of Japanese people have an interest in English since it is viewed as an "international language". You can always have a language exchange with your friends (as I try to do). Half the time, I get to practice & improve my Japanese & half the time they get to practice & improve their English. It's a win-win situation.

That is one of the sooooooo many reasons as to why the Japanese are sooooooo great. Before I die, I want to visit Japan soooooo much because this 80's style cowboy is in awe over our buddies over there.
Two problems... I'm too scared to fly and I can't tread water... lol... so I'll have to figure something out...

I spent my years in Japan as an assitant language teacher (I helped to teach English to junior high school kids).
My trip to Japan &, at the end of my 3-year work-stay there, my trip BACK were paid for in full.
If you are interested in details, please let me know.
[This goes for anyone here in the Tron-Sector that is interested in living abroad. Not living with a broad. Just kidding. That might sound sexist. If so, I apologize.]
Anyhow, bottom line is, there ARE ways of living in foreign countries & having (at least) your flight expenses paid for.
I'm not trying to sell anything. Just trying to pass on some information gained from previous experience.
