Fun Fact... There was another Pitfall commerical made with a young 9 year old boy expressing his love for the game... That boy's name is Jack Black.

I actually remember that ET one. The funny thing about the E.T. game is it has gone down in history as the #1 video game failure of all time. Millions were scrapped in landfills after it failed to sell. Proof that a sure sell isn't always a sure sell.

That and the 2600 port of Pac-Man. I remember hearing the landfield stories... Interesting stuff.
When the game market crashed back in 83 or 84, I remember going to our local drug store and they had a large bin of Atari games all for sell for 50 cents. By that time, I already had a Colecovision and looking for games for it. Only owned like 10... |

Interesting... TRON flopped in the cinemas and ET was a big success.
Then the TRON games were HUGE and the ET game was a failure.
Who had the last laugh? Ha... haha... hahaha... AHAHAAAHAAHAHAAAAAAA!
Ooh, sorry about that.
I'd really to get an old arcade game. It would particularly matter which one, so long as it was working, looking good, fun to play, had my friends saying, 'wow, cool!' and was on eBay.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Actually, Pac-Man sold quite well. It just was a very very poor port from the arcade (The subsequent Ms. Pac Man is what it should have been like).
The story I have always heard was that the Atari execs absconded with the demo code for Pac-Man and released THAT. Even then, they still had a hit on their hands.

The biggest problem with Atari when Time Warrner (correct me if I'm wrong about the company) took over was they lacked quailty control. The business folks figured that anyone would play buy just any video game and too much crap was being put out that it almost compeletly destoryed Atari.
I read that on several video game history sites.
About Pac-Man... You are right... It wasn't the worse Atari game but it was poorly made.
Somehow, some of the weirdest games ever made was the best for that system. Like "Yar's Revenge" (I'm such a Yar's junky)... lol...
I sure miss those good old days... but I don't think I could survive without the internet... lol..

There were even some for the intellivision as well if memory serves me correctly as well. There was one that I knew of as well for the intellivision called safecracker I believe. Really weird game to play. Doing a hefty sift through my books of ye old studies. Ah here it is the title is called "The complete guide to conquering video games How to win everygame in the galaxy" By Jeff Rovin ISBN 0-02-029970-2 It was a cool book for the gaming consoles of its time over here. I remember picking it up when I went to PLattsburgh with my parents way back when. Seeing some of those commercials for the games brings back memories. Compared to what I had seen with the newer generation of video games. Its mind boggling graphics wise.

Oh yeah, Karl... I know what you mean... The 80's were so awsome... Wouldn't it be so cool if we all could get together, go back in time for a few weeks and enjoy the past? I'm so buying a Delorian... lol..
Look at us now... all grown up... Things seem so much simpler back then.
One thing I would change is the hair... Looking at these old ads make me laugh at how we wore our hair back then... I was a head banger so my hair was super long... and big... lol..
However, I do miss the ladies' hair styles... at least they wore it long with at least some curls.... You just can't get this stuff no more (I say that too much)...

Yeah I know what you mean all too well there Jody. I always liked some of the girls with the long hair. The styles of fashion and a few other things. If we had a time machine like the delorian or like in the classical time machine from the films to go back way when in the films. Would be fun don't you think?
Well for me it wasn't really the hair for myself. Would have loved to have been popular with the ladies back then in high school. I was never really into either crowd over here. We had the nerds or the shoppers. (Shoppers were the guys who would be in the machine chop, auto mechanics, welding, etc.) Or what some of the ladies wore in our times in the 80's remember.
And look at me now over the net with the myspace. Most of them are the most beautiful ladies that I have seen. Like chantale and Martina. Need I say more. Wink wink nudge nudge 2 Legit 2 quit

I know... you lucky dog you...
For me... I didn't hit Highschool till 1991... I did ok.. but things changed than what I was use to. I had my fair share but I was never into the clicks.... I was part of a group called South Siders... Seems like yesterday to me... We were a very large mixture of over 100 people who was fed up with the HS clicks. Partied too hard then, but it was truely a great time...
With the ladies? Well... I never had a problem there back then, but that isn't saying too much... I was too self involved back in those lazy days. Things didn't get so rough till about a few years ago when Cathy and I broke our engagement. Time moves sooo damn fast...
Ok.. I'm going away to cry... lol...
