You know, I've noticed that a lot of kids - raver types - like to add "Tron" to words to make them sound cool, even though they probably have little to no idea where it originally came from.

If you do a search for "Tron" on YouTube for example, you'll get a ton of entries that have nothing to do with our Tron! Instead you'll see stuff like "Funk-o-Tron" and "Beat-Tron", ad nauseam.

So that might explain why this kid is already using your name. And sadly, that means he's not really a Tron fan either.

Though I still don't see how he got to Dave, from Daniel?


Anyhow . . . nice MySpace site. The bobblehead is a great touch.

I had no problems in getting to it from clicking it over here. I'll change it later on with a name in there when I get back onto myspace this evening.

Well, I know someone called Ed who likes to go by the name Dave.

And to make matters more confusing, it turned out that Ed was his second name, and his first name is in fact Charles...

I have a MySpace page, but it is totally blank at the moment. Maybe I'll TRONify it someday...

Thanks to those of you who added me to your friends list!

I found a couple of other TRON-Sector members just browsing other friends lists and sent add requests, but I don't think I have all the TRON-Sector regulars who actually have MySpaces yet.

Man, I feel like such a DORK doing this! I mean, I've ALWAYS made fun of MySpace! In fact, two of my friends on there are guys from work... who ALSO make fun of MySpace with me!

But aside from the "in thing to do", I think there are some good possibilities on there for networking with people of similar mind and interest.

What's up with all the MySpace whores though? I don't mean the scantly clad chicks or anything, I mean the random requests one gets from people with thousands of friends already? Come on, they can't ALL be friends! Seems like a good opportunity to simply promote one's product if you ask me. Oh well, whatever. I'm not concerned about my friend count, so I'm not adding them. The friend count ain't a status symbol to me, although it sadly is to a lot of people I bet. Only status symbol I need to show my coolness is my love of TRON!

Ok, this sucks though - every time I open a new IE window, MySpace asks me to log in... AGAIN! Grrrrr! Not very friendly... perhaps it's a security feature? Whatever. The damn website is soooooooooo very sloooooooow too. I can't spend much time on there before it drives me crazy and I have to close the window out of frustration. Life is too short to wait 30 seconds or more for every new hyperlink to load after being clicked!

You know - I resisted for a long time. But after realizing that MySpace seems to be like its own huge chunk of the internet, I decided to join JUST to reserve my name there about a month ago. I missed out on my name dot com - another Todd, NOT the real Todd (or Reel Todd for that matter), just another Todd with my first and last name. He got it about a month before I was ready to take the plunge. I've regretted it ever since. It wasn't until about two years later I finally came up with TheReelTodd.com and went with it.

So, before someone else could snatch up my name, I reserved both my full name (which I don't use) and TheReelTodd, which I JUST started using on Friday.

Honestly, the only reason I started using it was because one of the guys at work (who made fun of MySpace with me) was starting to use his account. We started joking about adding friends, and so we added each other... then made fun of each other about it! . Then we added another coworker and laughed about that too.

Since all this MySpace was going on here, I figured why not add my TRON-Sector friends. I'm still waiting for more friend requests from TRON-Sector regulars who haven't added me yet (I'm a bit lazy to seek them all out myself).

I even filled in some profile info, but haven't really customized my page yet.

It's a VERY slow site, but everyone seems to use it. Esotek was talking about it being a very useful networking tool for him in his dealings in the music scene. I'm not really a social butterfly, but the networking possibilities sounded good to me so I figures why not give it a try.

Well, redrain85 and Traahn - should you guys take the plunge, look me up and add me as a friend. And I'll post a comment on your profile that says "Thanks for the add" like any self-respecting MySpace looser... er, user would do.

I'm not sure how active I'll be there though. I've got such limited personal time and it's all divided up too much already. I don't even get enough time to play here at The Sector as often as I'd like! Grrr. Yeah - so many things to do, and so little personal time. If only I didn't have to work. If only my lottery ticket would be a winner next time. While I'm at it, why not another "if" that will never happen - if only there'd be a worthy sequel to TRON directed by Steven Lisberger!
