Ok... I'm in a hippy mood right now... lol....
But it's true... I never met any of you in person, but yet we've shared so much together throughout the years. I'm always excited to see everyone's posts when I get the chance to log on to the sector. This isn't really a strange thing since I live in such a little town and almost everyone I know is much younger than me or just too immature.... mainly because most of my friends that I grew up with are either dead, moved away, in prision (not my fault), or just changed so drasticly.
Looking back on our history of the sector, I find myself to be so greatful. Before the sector, in late 1996, I found Dave's site by just doing a yahoo search for my fav. movie... Tron... I kept going back just to read up on the rummor of a new Tron movie till one day, the sector was created.... with a disscusion forum... OMG!!!!! It was then that I was able to meet some of you... and years passed and I met the rest of you guys... and I loved every moment of it...
Without the sector, I would have missed out on so much. This site really has been a great help for scarce information and great friends. Re-living my 80's child-hood.... and having the chance to compete in some good old fasion video games like we did with "Yar's Revenge". It's because of all of this, I am living a much richer life...
I'm not on as often as I use to be, but I'm still here... and I'm so gald that all of you are too.... but I haven't seen Trace on here lately, so I'm calling all Recognizers to search for her... lol...
Anyways... I just want to thank all of you for being so awesome, and I want to thank the sector for being the best place on earth....
.... and for Tron... the movie that made all of us come together.... (oh.. wait... I was saving this speech for when I win my first Emmy.. lol)...

You said it, Qix! I agree with more-or-less everything you said about the sector! (Except finding it in the late 90's, I don't know if our family even had the internet back then...)
I haven't been around for long, but this is by far the best community I have ever seen on the web! And I've seen quite a fair few...

I feel the same way a lot of the time. Like any family, we have our occasional spats, but I still love seeing EVRYONE on TRON Sector every day. We are a family in a non-standard way, and that's a nice thing to find in the world.

When I first laid eyes on the forum, I thought it had'nt been posted upon for some time...I thought it might be a dead forum I'd found...but it lives! It breathes! People hit 3000 posts! Yay!!!!

I never really thought indepth about the people of TS being like family. But now that you've got me thinking, TS is like family... Albeit, a family scattered all over the world with occasional chances of seeing eachother in the flesh... but it's still good.

This is my favorite site as well. I never knew I would be this involved with the site today back when I first joined up, nor did I think the community would last like it has. I hope it continues to thrive and grow. Everyone here seem to be great personalities that I would love to meet in person one day. 
It is like one big family here. We're like the Brady Bunch, just with Tron and more than one bathroom.

I agree with you. I've said it before - TRON-Sector is probably the friendliest community on the net. AND we all have the extra benefit of being TRON fans!
Peace, love, TRON, nerdiness, lots of sci-fi - who could ask for anything more?
I miss Trace too. I'm sure she'll pop in again soon. Once a TRON fan, ALWAYS a TRON fan. And there's a saying about TRON-Sector that not everyone knows yet. It goes like this:

How many people on Tron-Sector are actually from the UK? Because I doubt there's any chance of me meeting anyone Sector guys from the US - if there were enough people, there could be a very slim chance of a UK Tron Convention, right? Highly unlikely, but I can still imagine...

Why am I getting the mental image of a few people sat nervously in a room with a 'UK Tron Convention' banner during an awkward silence? 
Still, this site is the first thing I check out when I get back from school, I keep checking every 10 to 30 minutes as I'm always eager to read the new posts, and Tron-Sector is a good enough 'convention' as it is, right? Open 24/7, with easily accessable interviews, images, fan art/fic, loads of people attending, the occasional word from one of the creators (via Dave, usually), and everything you could possibly need to know about TRON - all from the comfort of your own computer chair! Well, that's assuming that you have a comfy computer chair... The only sacrifice is that you can't see any of the other people at the 'convention', but you sure hear what they have to say, and do we say a lot! So, I guess this site is the best TRON convention there could ever possibly be.

Ok... It's suppose to be the Larry, Darel, Darel.. Joke but this is the sectors version.
What came over me this morning was that I was searching a lot of our old threads just for memory sake and I just had to express a little emotion. Most forums out there are just aweful due to immature and mean spirited people who have no respect for others when they are online. Sometimes I just want to smack them kids around. But its much better her.
Thanks everyone for your responce to this thread. It feels good when I know others feel as strongly as I do about this place.

I wanna kow what Qix77 has been smoking and can he pass it around to the rest of us scripts lol I know I think i have been one of the lesser known people on this forums who doesnt post much. But I check it every day read whats going down and stuff. But I think this is probably one of the few forums where people have so much in common and still has special something that keeps everyone comming here.

Yes... I am English. I live in Portsmouth, on the south coast. I wouldn't mind meeting some of these so called "other uk dwellers"[  ] face to face, but i'm not much of a traveller. i think the closest member of TS to me is Foilism, who is roughly 40 miles away. we talked briefly about getting together, but not much became of that....
anyway, I don't really consider TS members family, but i do consider a lot of the people here quite close friends, even though i've never met any of you.
but i want that to change
so i guess this is as good a time as any to reveal one of my plans for the [hopefully not too distant] future:
I will eventually fly out to America, and probably Canada too for the sole purpose of meeting some of the people on this forum face to face...if that fails, then at least it'll be a good holiday
woah, i digress again... i'm good at that.
but yeah, thanks to this website, the list of people i can consider friends has boomed.
my parents keep saying "you should be careful with people on the internet, you can't be sure they're who they say they are" but having spent just over 2 years here, I can put my trust in everyone here, and no one is being false.
the people on this site are some of the greatest people i have ever met, even though i havn't actually met any of you.
I know there have been some ups and downs, but it is the good nature of everybody here that keeps this website running...
oh, and Tron, mustn't forget Tron, that jewel of a movie that brought me here anyway... mega kudos to Tron, and mega kudos to everyone on this site.

You know... I often wondered what it would be like if everyone of us was in a room, sitting around a table and meeting each other for the first time. I thought it would be really cool just to kick back and everyone chat with one another in person.
I'm in Southern Illinois (close to the border of KY and MO). The gateway to the South, and the West (MidWest of course)... So if any of you folks plan to pass through my neck-of-the-woods then come visit... and if you happen to run over a possim, throw it in the trunk and we'll have it for supper... (kidding)...
But it would be cool to meet some of you folks. And if I ever make it as far as LA someday, I'll go see Dave...
