Yeah - that's how I feel about it as well.

I love graphic realism, but I need more than just a few graphical enhancements and a new trick or two to make the same old games seem new and worthy of time invested in them.

I don't plan on buying any of the next gen consoles. That's not to say I won't eventually end up with one of them, but there has been nothing about any of them to really get me excited about them.

They need to take gaming to the next level - not just add better graphics and a few novel tricks.

What is the next level?

Well, I can't exactly spell it out in specific terms... but playing an interactive adventure on a flat screen with hand-held controllers isn't exactly "the next level". Same old same old, with slightly better graphics.

Or maybe I'm just getting too old to dig gaming anymore... but I doubt that's it.
